I loved Spongebob, and I'm just a tad older than Gonch's kids (although it's hard to tell by looking at the gray beard, LOL). :)

I just can't bring myself to dye my facial hair. Don't know why.

I've done the Spongebob movie more times than any coaster at KI. It was one of the few 'must do' attractions at the park.

Kind of reminds me of dino island from Geauga lake in the screen capture. I mean dinos are cool and most kids love em, but not as much as the yellow sponge.

Dave, so the dinosaur was left without a paint job? Looking in at forums at pointbuzz it seems like cedar fair is really cutting things to a bear minimum appearance wise. It seems that Ocean Motion and Millennium Force will look less than stellar when the park opens on saturday as well. Now granted Millennium Force is a tall order to paint in crappy weather, but it looks pretty screwed up with its paint only going like a quarter of the way up the lift hill.

I should point out that the film to be shown will likely be the 10 minute edited version of the original 40 minute film. You can buy the whole film at Walmart for $16.

Does Michael Douglas count for anything?

And the 40 minute version will probably be on sale in kiosks near the theater and in the gift shops on International Street for $30 :)

I just clicked the link Pagoda provided, and on the cover of the Blue Ray Disk, it reads "Originally created for (?) IMAX theaters". It is also in 3-D. The disk is narrated by Michael Douglas. Has it been said that this movie is narrated by Michael Douglas? This money grab is bull crap, by the way, and a new low for CF.

My family and I are platinum holders for CF. This attraction will definately not get any of our $$. The dino attraction may get a one time entrance from a couple of us, but that is to be determined. I would agree with the previous post about the dino that was toward the rear of the park.. it was motionless and left a negative impression about the new attraction. It had paint, but in my oppinion, the attention to detail was just forgot about.

In saying anything that sounds negative aobut the park, I must add...........I love having the CF passes and the value is totally there without any question. We will make many trips to KI this year as well as CP, and maybe a few of the other CF parks.

I'll look at the dino park for free from Windseeker. lol

I wonder if Netflix has the 3-D film? If it does, I wonder how well that would jive with the park-going public?

The great thing about these two dino attractions is that they may, if popular enough, shorten the amount of time that I have to wait for the rides. I do love Kings Island.

This is exactly why the American theme park experience is becoming less and less of a good experience. Upcharge attractions taking the place of flat rides. Pay to cut line jumping systems. Gouge gouge gouge. Less attractions included in admission mean longer lines. Line cutting systems mean longer lines to those that do not pay.

Parks have to turn a profit, but standing in longer lines all day is not fun for anyone and not something people will continue to pay a high admission for, when that high admission is not all-inclusive

I do agree. I wish we could see some of the old flats return. They were lots of family fun. I know they want the big thrills like me but I would love to see a tumblebug, whip, .... return.

And yet, so far there's no indication this is actually the case. In fact, every time anything changes (q-bot, disney upping prices, VIP tours, etc. etc.) someone always says "if they keep doing this, they'll lose customers" but it never seems to happen.

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

Well, we still have Diamondback...

I dont mind paying for it as long as its good! I believe i paid $5 for the 3D movie at chocolate world at Hershey park and it was worth it IMO.
