new england parks 2003

Does anyone know of anything confirmed for any new england parks in 2003? I usually visit SFNE, LC, CLP, and Funtown every year and was wondering if I could look forward to anything new whether it be coaster, flat, or even any new show. Thanks in advance.

Lake Compounce is doing a *huge* water park expansion and the Flyers return in the location where the Top Spin once stood [it's moving to Kennywood]. To make room for the waterpark expansion the Carousel is moving to where the Putt-Putt Golf was [and I believe the minigolf is not returning].

No word on the other parks you mentioned.

wow I thought that the water park was just the right size, I wish that they would put the money into a steel coaster. I think a steel mouse would be a good fit for the park and would allow it to keep it's old time nostalgic feel.
Funtown USA is adding on to their waterpark. Visit their hompage for more information.

Steel Force - while I can't confirm this 100% I had heard that Compounce was looking at a mouse *and* a double shot but ultimately went with the water park expansion. Hopefully the mouse and tower are just *on hold* until next year.

FYI Compounce's watrpark is hugely popular so in my opinion they've done the right thing: expand a popular area to bring in more people who will pay for the next play toy[s].

Hi Steel Force. There have been recent rumors on the web of a wave swinger or flying carousel being installed at CLP and an unspecified flat ride or two along with a water park expansion at SFNE. For 2003 I personally hope that SFNE gets their giant Ferris wheel, Colossus, up and running for good and that S:ROS operates consistently with two trains. Anything else they add will be an unexpected bonus.

I hope that the upcoming expansion to Lake Compounce's water park is enough for a while so they can focus on the rest of the park, and I agree that a wild mouse would be perfect there. However, I'm glad they are bringing back the flying scooters and not focusing solely on the water park.

Yes Gardener I agree with S:ROS's two train operation, but I would love to see SFNE add a SALLY interactive dark ride like Ghost Hunt at LC. Moosh, I guess that since I'm not a big water park fan, the expansion at LC kinda dissapointed me, especially since the thought of a mouse and/or an S&S makes my mouth water.
a waterpark expansion at SFNE would be much appreciated, as it was far too crowded this year for me to even think about going in, despite several visits when it was open. Also, SFNE needs to add an entrance by B:TDK - it never had a line all summer, which although it would seem that this is a good thing, all it really does is make the lines for S:ROS even longer. The whole layout of the park isn't condusive to people wandering - they pretty much stay in the middle and in Superheroes Adventure. Plus, i'm tired of all the peeps asking me "where's Batman?" "I can't find Batman?" and "Isn't there supposed to be a Batman ride here?" I had to direct someone by physically leading them at least once every time i was there. OK, so now i'm just ranting, but there haven't been any good SFNE topics lately. Oh, and to answer your original question, i have no clue, but what the others said seems logical. Besides, I'd still make the trip to SFNE just to ride S:ROS (if they have the red train back on the track it absolutely flies!; most airtime i've had on any coaster ever, and i was in the middle of the train!) =)

peace, love, coasters.

Is free soda going to be a permenant thing at LC or was it just for 2002?

I think it's an amazing idea.

Funtown Splashtown USA
-WhiteWater West Rain Fortress
This brand new attraction will be going in the area that was once home to the Bat-A-Way Baseball batting cages. It will feature 3 new slides, a huge bucket that will dump water down on people below, 400 more lounge chairs, and a new Tiki Bar/Gift Shop. You notice that Quassy, Funtown, and Lake Compounce are adding these AquaPlay sets It's kinda funny, Quassy wants to compete with the Lake, so they add some water stuff! LOL

Which one do you want to go to?

I'm going to the one with the Tiki Bars

Lake Compounce-So Fresh and So Clean Clean

It seems that Funtown wants to compete with AquaBoggan. I beleive that the free soda at LC will continue this year as it does at HW. I also agree with the layout of SFNE, when I went there to ride Batman for the first time, I could not find the entrance and it's my home park!!!
