Since this isn't an actual news item I figured I start it here. I was browsing around the Six Flags web site and went to the Six Flags Elitch Gardens page and under the news sections it said - "Check back soon when we announce the exciting NEW RIDE in 2002!"
Be that as it may, this is heavenly news for all new ride stricken Denver patrons. I plan on checking the page more often for the announcement.
It isnt really news until they disclose the nature of the new ride. Yes, it has been mentioned here already that they are certainly getting a new ride in 2002 (deservingly), but what it will be is still unknown. ----------------- My other car is a Giovanola!
does this ride remind anyone else of PKI's Runaway Reptar? Looks like Zamperla has the same idea for a "kiddie" inverted to me...but I really liked the ride, so I'm happy to see other manufacturers try their hand ...and this DOES look more like a "mid-size" that the much-smaller RR. ----------------- PoTP acolyte - remove fear to reply Son of Drop Zone - PKI CoasterCamp I Champions!!!
Mamoosh, does this mean riding in the "prone" position a la the Vekomas, 'cause the compact layout really seems to suggest a different riding position. Also, the Zamperla site refers to the trains as "gondolas"...I certainly wouldn't refer to the current flyers' trains that way...just wondering...looks like fun in any case! ----------------- PoTP acolyte - remove fear to reply Son of Drop Zone - PKI CoasterCamp I Champions!!!
the ride with dark red track and black supports in the picture.
----------------- Out of the coasters i've ridden here is wat i rank them overall:(ive been to canobie lake and SFNE) 1. S:RoS 2. Yankee Cannonball 3. Riverside Cyclone 4. Canobie Corkscrew 5. Thunderbolt 6. Galaxy 7. Mind Eraser 8. Dragon coaster 9. poison ivy's tangled
ColumbusCoaster, thanks for the link. Definitely NOT your "typical" flying coaster, the restraints look somewhat more....confining. I love seeing all these companies putting out new rides - competition ALWAYS benefits the consumer....US! Also, especially happy to hear that Zamperla is interested in hearing how their ride could be improved...that's the customer-driven mentality, and will serve Zamperla well... ----------------- PoTP acolyte - remove fear to reply Son of Drop Zone - PKI CoasterCamp I Champions!!!

Wow! That looks amazing...a flying wild mouse of sorts...hmm...
Anyway, the restraints look very unique...almost to the point of claustrophobic...it's actually quite humorous seeing the passengers in the standing position moving through the station, at least according to the pictures...it would be awesome if these became commonplace in the US.
----------------- Welcome to Six Flags Great America, home of the fastlane and delay-ja vu! We have now officially been deemed the world-wide wait!
