New construction pics show rising rides at Great America

Posted | Contributed by Blink3020

While I was at the park I got to snap some good construction pics of Six Flags Great America's V2 and Deja Vu that I think you'll enjoy.

Show me the photos.

Is the structure of V2 even done yet? I wasn't quite sure from the pics. If these pics are real recent, then that's really bad, cause it doesn't look like they'll be ready for may 13th (my first trip of the season)
Once again, cool pictures.

By the way, I'm going to put a plug in here for someone elses webpage. This person posts on Rec.Roller-Coaster. Anyway, he was able to attend the buyout at the park last Saturday (the 14th), and has some GREAT pictures of both Deja Vu and V2.

Check them out. He took some really good pictures.

Deja Vu will open at the end of May - early June. Over 3 - 4 weeks construction works will be ready.
WOW. I can't believe that they started to track one vertical tower on Deja Vu. When I went on Friday, they only had that much done.

But there is still progress. V2 is coming along nicely. Can not wait for this year!

BTW, I love the touce added with the dates being wrong on the pictures. Just a really funny touch.

I'm with Subbie.. what's with those lights (the last pic on the page)?
They look like they came from the brains of briteny spears. Looks like she's making progress from that pencil she designed last week.

lol! sorry... I had to :D

I heard some people talking about them, and I think(not 100 percent sure) that they said the new lighting is for a show this year. I can't get into much detail because I just overheard them talking. I'm not really sure either, and I'm the one who took the pics.

Nice pics, and I like the date on the pics themselves, 3/2/94. I didn't notice those rides being built back then! It looks like V2 will be finished with construction very very very soon.

V2, Deja Vu... how can it be better? Add Viper! Oh, wait. It's already there!
lol TrBiggar. I don't know whats going on with that, but who really cares? I sure hope V2 will be finished soon!

Is V2 smaller then Superman UE and does the tower support go up higher then The ohio version. To me the spikes look shorter then the ohio version and the supports look like there higher up the spikes then the ohio version. Is it just the pics or is it really different *** This post was edited by rob4420 on 4/19/2001. ***
I think the lights are for the Private Party for B96. That's the stage. It was the stage the year before, and other special events are held there.

Deja Vu, and V2, what more can you want? SFGAm #1
I went past great america today, the 19th, on my way to cincinatti, and i can confirm that the structure for vertical velocity is complete. Both towers are up. As for Deja Vu, all they have is the cobra roll and a tangled mess of blue supports. VERTICAL VELOCITY IS COMPLETE!

I highly doubt that SFWoA will get a clone of Raging Bull clone. Raging Bull is a terrain coaster and it fits into S.W. Territory section @ GA. It wouldn't fit properly into another spot unless the terrain is modified.
I don't think SFWoA will get a RB clone. If SFWoA were to put in a hyper, I would rather see a original design. Not only that, but next year. A new coaster? I can't see that happening either. That would be 5 coasters in three years. Not to mention the transformation of the park in 2000.
How long did it take to test S:UE because if what Scott J. said is true then V2 might be ready for opening day.

First of all, I'm sure they would be able to fit a clone in if they really wanted to...

Second of all, no-one thought SFWoA would get a new coaster this year, but they did, didn't they?

Third, I think it will be original too, if we get one. I imagine we will sooner or later to compete with CP in one way, and most B&M's come in contracts of 2, or 3 coasters so SFWoA most likely has another one on the way.
