A sweeping 10-year, $12.5 million project revitalization plan proposed by the Economic Progress Alliance of Crawford County would transform Conneaut Lake Park into a public events and amusement park featuring new buildings while retaining the current amusement park. The plan includes a 4-year plan to pay more than $900,000 in back taxes that have plagued the park for years.

I was actually at the park the day they announced this. I wish them all the best. I am honestly moved by the tenacity of this park and would very much love to see it rise again.
"Back taxes" and "plan" don't belong in the same sentence. Those past-due taxes are unrecoverable. *If* the park were to survive, any revenues in excess of costs (those are usually called profits, LOL) would have to be invested just to maintain the place, much less operate a full schedule, and, ummm...grow....
They could get grade-school children to go door-to-door asking for donations to help save the park. Or maybe a car wash? Yea! A car wash! What about a bake sale near the front doors of the local Walmart? That'll get the park back on track.
I mean, what will it take for them to realize that running a park on that property is not working?
I could be completely wrong, and they could be onto something here, but year after year this park hangs by a thread. I just don't know any more.
