New coasters at IOA

PLEASE read the disclaimer i put on the end of this. It is kind of a long one for such a small post so I apologize in advance.

Okay, I know (almost) for a fact that IOA will be getting 2 new B&M coasters in 2003. That is ALL I know for the moment. I don't know what type, where in the park, or any stats at all.

Disclaimer: This may have come up in previous posts, I did a search and didn't turn up anything. Sorry if this is old news. I got this info from a friend of a friend. I know that makes this post seem void, but belive me, I've talked to this man, he used to work for Vekoma but when they filed for Chapter 11 he took a new job with Busch Gardens Tampa after being the only member of the Vekoma team being seriously dedicated to fixing Rhino Rally. Interestingly enough, he does not know what CP is getting. I was kinda angry about that, I want to know so badly. Soooo, that's my two cents. Again, sorry if this is old or has already been discussed, the way this guy presented it, it sounded pretty exclusive.

All I need is 4.5 million bucks and a half a mile long sliver of land and maybe someone could build me my very own Shivering Timbers. ;)

I dont know about 2 but i did hear a while back about a B&M flyer. It would be themeded to Jurasic Park 3 and the it would be in the big bird cage in that movie. For those of you that have seen the movie you should know what part I am talking about. I think this would be awesome flying through this cage in the jungle setting.

The cleveland browns suck, if its brown flush it down, Go Bengals!

I did hear about another jurassic park ride, however, this was going to be a jeep ride just like the first movie. In this, the Rex would actually walk up to the jeep and push it into a ravine. Sure it sounds far-fetched but the article i read about this in said it has been in development for a while and will be for even longer. If the ride is built, it will be the most technologically advanced ride in the world. I'd make the trip to do it.

If everything had a point, there would be nothing left to sit on.

I heard the most logical one the b&m flyer. I heard about a vertical one to there, but i don't know if that was what B&M LOVER! had in mind or the guy he talked to or whatever.

Interestingly...

B&M only has three known rides for 2003 so far:

Nemesis Inferno (under construction)
SFGAdv Flyer (signs up at park)
SFGAm Flyer (track on site)

This may seem offensive, but I gotta say it:

The mere fact that you're name is B&M LOVER negates you're opinion.

There, I said it.

Why would a Busch employee know what Universal is doing? Especially since it sounds like he is a mechanic (because he worked on fixing the stupid trunk ride), not a manager who should keep up on what the competition is doing.

In jurassic park there is alot of room for a coaster or another type ride. If you look at on mapquest.com you can see the room. Its right behind the Discovery center were the electric fences and nosies are coming from. That would be really cool for a theme park to only have B+M coaster no really big head bangers.Just Smooth B+Ms.

I don't really think that there is enough room for a coaster to be built across the walkway from Discovery Center and beside JPRA. I've been back there more times than I can count. I DO remember the pre-opening map of IOA as haveing the Jeep Adventure ride in this location though, but that was before Flying Unicorn was even planned. FU now takes up about 1/3 of the space that JA was planned for. So it is VERY possible that the ride was scrapped.

However, the land between JPRA and DDRSF, and behind the now closed Thunder Falls Resturaunt is plenty large enough for a large coaster. TF's building could even be used to house the queue for this new ride. I know for a fact that a baloon test was done in this location in 2000 (that is where a baloon floats a certain distance from the ground so designers can figure out the visuial impact of a planned attraction).

JP was to be a unique themed area in that the rides would represent the attractions one would see in the movie version of the park. Unfortunately, this vision is being overlooked. The future of JP at IOA will see more "normal" rides, rather than the unique expierances that were originally planned. That to me is a very sad thing.

But... a new coaster WOULD be nice:)

Ohhh the rumors that I heard while working at JP. If I only had the nerve to tell you what I know.
