New Coaster for BGW?

Do you guys think BGW will get a new coaster for 2002?  Any idea what kind?
Probably an Arrow sitdown multi looper; maybe a blue one? ;)

My fellow Americans, let's roll!
I pray that I will never see a Six Flags Conneaut Lake

While it would be nice to see the return of Drachen Fire, I think BGW is long overdue for a wooden coaster. I'd love to see one in the France section.

Oh, we can only hope...What was up with that halloween thing about sleeping coasters rising again?  Why did they lead us on like that:).  Well maybe BGW will get a CCI woodie like people have thought in the past but I sort of like the appeal of BGW having only steel beauties.  Hey I know, a B&M flyer;)(in my dreams)

It has been a rumor for a while that they will get a dueling wood from either CCI or GCI.
I really hope Dranchen Fire comes back. It sounds so stupid to have a huge coaster just sitting there. A large woodie might fit in nicley though.

movies+coasters= the most fun you could ever imagine!

I don't percieve BGW getting another coaster so soon.  Apollo's Chariot didn't exactly bring the masses in.  They actually lost attendance the year it was installed.

I will spill the beans on a recent occurrance however.  I was working at SFKK on Chang and a gentleman rode the coaster.  He was fussing a lot with his seat and remarking to me about how uncomfortable it seemed.  The train took off and I kept wondering where I had seen the man before.  The train came back in and it was obvious that he had not enjoyed his ride.  Upon exiting I noticed his jacket... and official Busch Parks Corporate logo was on the lapel.  He was test riding coasters.  I had remembered him from talking to him at IAAPA last fall at the B&M booth when he was scoping out their exhibit.

The moral of the story?  Well, I know Busch is looking at more coasters obviously.  At IAAPA this gentleman seemed pleased when I complemented him on Busch's coasters.  He responded with "Then look for more good things to come."

I don't see BGW rushing into another coaster anytime soon.  But they are testing the waters.  I highly doubt we will see a woodie at BGW soon, simply because the chain does not like the maintenance on them.  You can tell by how they run Gwazi.

But, my dream is for them to install a wooden dueling along the lines of Lightening Racer in the Ravine in between the Big Ben area and what is now Ireland.  I even have the perfect theme... Jekyl and Hyde!

well they could always rip down DF and build a woodie since it was clearly a bust when it came to the ride suceses and give it a better entrance. only thing with BGW having so many nice steel coasters, all of them VERY nice if you ask me. and the GP kinda sees woodies as boring and slow compared ot thier steel counterparts. so putting it where df is wouldn;t help much and could possibly fall to the same fate. they really need to widen the opening to there and make it more accesable it asent until this year that I found out that the way to DF was tucked away besides the feast hause. I would love to see df come back but that dosent sem likley unless it can be fixed and well hyped. I want BGW to do one thing, DO something about drachen fire. tear it down or open it.

Shaggy, I second your idea of putting the woodie in the ravine between Banbury Cross and Ireland. I looked over the park several times while riding the cable tram this year and I thought that that would be the best area. It is wooded and there is room all the way beside Ireland on the left to Le Mans raceway in Aquitaine. Plus the water in that area would make a nice setting. I hope to see 2002 bring the reopening of DF and maybe a woodie in 2003.

I take it you didn't like Gwazi very well? I absolutely fell in love with it!! Sure, it was much rougher and bumpier(a lot more than SOB actually-tell me, why do these people complain?) than I would have guessed, but it was wild, out-of-control, had plenty of airtime, etc. The dueling effect was excellent as well. Lightning Racer is one of the coasters I want to ride the most though. Gwazi was perhaps my favorite coaster at BGT purely because it was such a surprise. I figured it would be like Twisted Sisters. What I got was... well, you do the math. :)

Maybe he's talking about how slow the crew is said to be.

I don't think BGW will ever see a woodie. This is because there is a noise restriction down there. They can't build a loud coaster. (Lochness is getting loud). They have tries in the past to build one but it has not pasted the town.

shaggy, are you incapable of SHORT posts? lol

I really wish those peopel down there would shut up or move away. you move withing hearing distance of a large amusment park and THEN you cry about being able to hear it? know what?   as joe diffie says "I'd like to have problem like that." of course I wouldn;t complain.

Maybe we will see DF opening but I HIGHLY doubt it.

That's possible but I didn't really notice at the time. The waits for Lion was 20 minutes and Tiger was a walk-on(a trash can was blocking that entrance and people didn't realise it-D'oh!). I think I just thought then that they were usually that slow since there was only 2 train op each side and they had to duel(yes, on a rainy tuesday they let them duel).
