New Buzzers

Hello everyone, just noticed that there seems to be a number of Coasterbuzzers on the boards lately. Welcome, to Jeff's site. Its one of the best on the net (I know I've looked) and he runs some of the best forums I've ever seen.

Just some pointers for all of you just getting started. 1.) Read a bunch of topics and posts before you throw something up. This lets you know the audience out there and keeps things from being redundant. This also helps quite a bit when it comes to terminology that gets thrown around on the boards quite a bit.

2.) Don't go into Park/Chain bashing. Its all fine and good to be proud of your park, but don't look for enemies by putting any chain down. And if you find something that really drives you nuts about a certain Chain/Park try and do it tactfully.

3.) Have fun!

That's all I can think of and if you ever need any help just ask some of the old timers (Chitown, Neil, Legendary, coastergenius, I know I'm missing a ton) But they should be able to help ya.

You build it, I'll ride it...eventually
I'm going to add to that.
4.) When posting, don't use shortened versions of words, (For example, da instead of the, or u instead of you).
When you do this, it makes your posts a lot harder to read, and generally makes it look like a three year old wrote it.
5.) Spelling and grammar. This is my own little pet peeve. See that little spell check button beside the submit button? Jeff didn't put it there for decoration. If you don't know how to spell something, use it! In fact, just run it every time you post, it might catch something you missed. Now with grammar, if you miss one or two things, no one is going to yell at you, but at least try to punctuate your sentances, they're much easier to read that way.

6.) If there is a thread that asks a specific question:

I.E.~"Does anyone know how many wheels are on a standard B&M floorless 7 car train?"

Don't respond with "Sorry, I can't help you." or "I don't know." because it just takes up bandwidth, and it irritates people to be reading a thread, and go back to Genereal Buzz (or an other section) and find 8 recently responded to topics.

And also, I can not stress enough to use correct spelling and grammer. It's ok to leave an "N" out of Millennium Force or somthing small like that, but just like Dave said, the U instead of you, da, becuz, thankz, thanx, and other similar things to those do make it hard to read, and it portrays you as ignorant (I don't use that word lightly, but it's the only thing that seems fitting), and it makes people question the credibility of your statments.

The grammar and spelling things are also personal pet peeves of mine.

Also, have fun :).

ExCUSE ME?! I've been personally trying to get the word out that Millennium is spelled with two n's and here you are telling them it's okay?! Off with your head! ;)

Seriously though, it was THE LONGEST RUNNING THREAD on RRC and *still* the majority people cannot spell the word correctly. It boggles the mind.

(At the very least I'd expect CP employees to spell it correctly...ahem:::Corey Jessup:ahem)

That's it, time to change the .sig again.

Lynch, I was trying to show an example that was a small error(Such as one letter) opposed to an incorrect, idiotic spelling (Becuz).

P.S.~Great signature. I've noticed that it seems that every once in a while (more than once every two weeks) a Simpsons quote or metaphore comes up on these boards or on the GTTP boards, proving my theroy that almost all coaster enthusiasts are Simpsons fans :). They may not be nuts like me (6 foot cardboard Bart Simpson cut-out on my wall), but they are indeed fans.

Hi! How are you? I'm not bad, myself. Say... How'd I get dragged into this thread? ;)
