New B&M for Port Adventura in 2005

Seems as though 2005 will see something VERY new from B&M at UPA for the parks 10th birthday. Will be up to 80 meters (260ft high), and you will travel in the 4th dimension like a certain coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Better than all that it seems it will be built by B&M!

Heres the link to the article, its in Spanish, maybe somone could translate it and paste in the whole article.

My Spanish isn't great so I'm not sure whether this is all official or just rumoured!

Looks like the height is not confirmed so I wouldn't bet on that, especially after the problems with X. But it does seem to say that a B&M fourth-dimension is a done deal!

Literally, "Although it is not confirmed."

Whether it is a rumor or actual insider information is not my place to guess.

Interesting! It says that it is not confirmed, and the park chooses not to comment.

Wow, though! :)

Gotta love AltaVista's Babelfish translator. :)

Port Adventure projects a hunting for 2005 Would be unique in mundó and to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the park Unique a hunting "in the world" will be the great newness of Port Adventure in 2005. The objective is to turn it new the referring one of the supply of attractions of the thematic park of the Daurada Coast. Everything aims at that will be an coaster of dimension denominated of fourth, similar to which appears in the image, although with novel elements.

Between those novel elements it would be the possible inclusion of a covered section - what it would allow to a tematización to the purest Universal style and the rating of wagons in which the passengers travel On guard horizontal. They would be both aspects that plus would at the moment differentiate it from the only hunting of fourth existing dimension in the world, in the park Six Flags Magic Mountain of the United States. The design and manufacture B is the responsibility of the specialized company & M (Bollinger & Mobillard). Although it is not confirmed, it could reach a peak altitude of about 80 meters and be located between the thematic areas of China and Polynesia. The mentioned attraction will be the supply star of Port Adventure for its season of 2005, in which it will commemorate the tenth anniversary of his opening. That does not mean that Universal Mediterranean it is not going to present/display new features for the 2004 exercise. There will be them, but they will have to do more with its supply like complex of global leisure. It will extend resort with some of the aspects including in the plan of expansion presented/displayed for three years and on which this metropolitan newspaper will inform in next dates. First in making official the news of this new hunting it has been UM-Community, a club of followers of Port Adventure, that counts already with more than 1,000 partners and who have thus become one of the groups of followers of more important thematic parks of all Europe. They have advanced it in its Web (www.um-community.com). Port Adventure, at the moment, does not deny, although near sources yes that have confirmed it to the Diari. Related Informació: There are different tens of ' coasters' Seats that turn on themselves ' we cannot say nadá

Some words were not translated, but you get the idea.

Does it say the ride is not confirmed or just the height?

Still it seems to indicate the future development of B&M 4D.

Wow. A B&M 4D? I didn't think that was actually happening. Of course this is all still speculation. Wow, those Swiss companies are really going nuts. It seems like they're going after S&S too. Intamin comes out with their Rocket Coasters which could be taking out the S&S TA2Ks. Then B&M is supposedly coming out with this 4D. I wonder if that'll take out Arrow/S&S's 4D.

I wonder how they would do this? It would take a few years of development to get this right and Arrow just recently came out and told of the 4D. I know the flying coaster took some planning. The 4D would take even more.

I also hope this is false and that it's just a hyper. I really want S&S/Arrow to be the ones making the 4Ds. Come on, it's Schilke's design. Let him get more out to parks. I hope more are bought and S&S/Arrow can keep marketing them.

Yes

Arrow hinted at the 4-D design for *years* before X was announced. *If* Port Aventura is really getting a B&M 4-D (which is a mighty huge "if"), it's very possible it's been in production for many years.

hmmm... i wonder if other parks start to come up with similar rumours... i'm looking forward to this coaster, as i have only visited the south of spain, i have not seen the daurada coast or Madrid. but with this news, i'll will be heading over there IF it's built!

I agree with haux. I hope that this is just a rumor, and that B&M isn't making their own 4th Dimension concept. S&S Arrow needs something to hold on to, and it would be a sad day if both companies were to go under. I think they've got some great ideas and could do alot with the 4D and Arrow's other coasters.

While it may not be probable, it is possible that the ride mentioned at Six Flags Magic Mountain isn't X. There have been several instances where parks announced a new attraction using their own special "lingo" such as when a new floorless coaster ( Medusa west, I think ) was called a flying coaster.

d00d....that glass ain't half-empty, it's TOTALLY empty...you need a new beer....;). The ride being referred to *is* X....whether or not it comes to fruition is another question. Personally, I think building a *taller* version of X isn't a good choice...although...:)
