I thought that I would start a thread on all the new 2008 attractions. So far, this is what I have.

Thunderhawk(mia)

slide(idlewild)

dominator(kd)

new kiddie ride section(cp)

I know that kennywood is also getting a new dark ride.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Voodoo-Dorney

Some Six Flags parks-Dark Knight

Behemoth- Wonderland

RIDE ON!

I thought that flying turns had already been open?

Two new coasters 10 minutes from home...not a bad haul.

One of them seems to be complete as far as steel erection goes. Parts for other are lying across the street.

It's interesting how they've painted segments of both these rides blue so they blend into the surrounding walls, ventilation and support columns. Nice touch.

-'Playa

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.

^Wishful thinking. I really hope they get it open next year (keeping fingers crossed). As I've said before, at least the ride coupons never expire (I've got ones from 06').

Personally, I think it was a really bad move on their part to have advertised the ride in 06' in the first place. It didn't sound like they had enough hands on deck to work on that project, as well as, the other rides in the park from their first Podcast of that year.

The new darkride at KW is called Ghostwood Estate. SFA is getting a halfpipe slide (hopefully) themed to Tony Hawk.

Beech Bend - 2 flats from WWW (Wave Swinger and one other I can't recall) and I hear the Scat replacement will be on hand finally.

Dollywood - Splash Battle water ride...and most importantly the completion of the walkway loop from MM to TT!

HW - Star Spangled Carousel and Reindeer Games Frog Hopper

Refurbed Splash Mountain at TDL if it's not already open by now.

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!
SFOT - Motion Simulator Changed.
The Great Escape is getting a Bowl Slide, and Wiggles.
SFOG & SFMM - They are getting Thomas towns.

The 2008's around me are:

Worlds of Fun: Possible Bench the Ride
Silver Dollar City: Definity Bench the Ride along with a Culinary & Craft School
Celebration City: Geauga Lake's Shipwreck Falls
Six Flags St. Louis: Evel Kinevel

Chris Knight

The FLying Scooter from Wild West World is the other for Beech Bend. The Carousel from there is the one HW is getting.

Chuck

Chimelong Paradise is getting 3 more coasters this year including and B&M dive coaster and two more splash coasters, to add to their already relatively large collection that includes a 10 inversion coaster, motorbike coaster, and a half pipe coaster. At the rate they are adding this park will have 20 coasters by 2020.

To be honest I really dont mind. *** Edited 1/2/2008 2:04:20 AM UTC by Audioslaved***

  • Worlds of Fun: New Haunt at Halloween Haunt and Midway rennovations
  • Silver Dollar City: Culinary & Craft School (additions to all of the festivals - shows/attractions/etc)
  • Celebration City: Geauga Lake's Shipwreck Falls (now named Roaring Falls)
  • Six Flags St. Louis: Evel Knievel
  • Adventureland: Kokomo Kove (water play fortress)
  • White Water: New main entrance
  • Oceans of Fun: More midway upgrades

My 2008 travel plans are minimal to none, so it's good we're getting two new coasters five minutes from home:

Avatar Airbender

SpongeBob SquarePants Rock Bottom Plunge

May be worth a season pass!

You forgot some big ones!

Led Zeppelin: The Ride
Maximum RPM
Midnight Rider
Shake, Rattle, and Rollercoaster
Slippery When Wet

Waldameer - Ravine Flyer 2 :)

Remind me again! Remind me again!

*bounces up and down*

Woo I'm excited there will be flyers at BB next year. Thanks Chuck for that little tidbit I'd forgotten. Hopefully they run them in insane mode. ;)

Let's hope for a more permanent looking installation for these flyers too as a lot of BB's rides have that "nomadic" look. I wonder if they'll keep the other swings they have since they're adding a Wave Swinger. The little ones they currently have are pretty intense!

Ravine Flyer 2.... ;) :)

LOL, hopefully a lot more Voyage/Hades, and a little less BB....although I've heard mention that the Bullet is/was undergoing some tweaking to get it on the right trajectory... ;)

A couple rides/attractions I'd almost forgot about were the new interactive raft ride at Dollywood and Dark Knight @ SFGAm.

But the new non-coaster attraction I'm most looking forward to is the waterpark expansion at the Columbus Zoo. I've had the opportunity to be up there three times now since Labor Day, and it looks pretty nice. Plus, there'll be a "Dry" waterpark included in that expansion too, (which according to the photos I've seen means a small amusement park).

Now officially a Halloween Haunt Cornstalker for Fall '08! www.freewebs.com/chadmicah
