New at IB '04

No official press release has been announced from Indiana Beach, but the Operations Manager Ruth Davis confirmed that they have been looking at a Flying Scooter. I'm almost 100% sure they'll add this in 2004. They are also considering a few other non-coaster possibilities. I'll pass along more details when they're available.
Squeeze 'em, pack 'em, and mash 'em in. ;)

If any park can do it, IB can. That place still amazes me with the amount of rides and attractions in such a small footprint. Its almost surreal. *** Edited 12/2/2003 4:20:59 AM UTC by Chitown***

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

I agree, it is shocking to think that Cornball express had NO Space to work with, but they still managed to shoe horn it in there, and make it the most brilliant wooden coaster ever, all hail IB!
WOW, just imagine them putting in a set that can really snap well. I can think of only one place to put it, right on the lake like the YoYo. It would be a amazing ride.

Well I know they were looking for something to replace the Paratrooper as it is getting old and hard to get parts for. Thing with that location is that it goes over the scrambler.

If these are the new modle Larson Scooters, They are very snappable.

Chuck, who is quickly thinking IB has some of the best of it's type rides out there!

The same thought occurred to me. Given that for me that Yo-Yo is the scariest ride in the park (swinging out over water like that drills right into my one major phobia), a similar installation of flyers would probably scare the living daylights out of me... ;)

NO! They can't take the Paratrooper!!! :( Waa! With the water below and all the clanking parts, it's by far the scariest ride in the park for ME. Plus it's one of the most photogenic...colorful during the day and all lit up at night. And it's been there forever.

But Flyers would be awesome...I think it's time for another platform to be built on the lake! :)

From what I understand Dawn, They cannot build anymore lake platforms :(

I can see wanting to replace the Paratrooper because it ran through parts. However, aquiring parts shouldn't be a problem as Dartron provides parts for all Hrubetz rides and there are lots of these models running without parts supply problems throughtout the country. At the show IB was looking at this and a Disk'O. I think the Zamperla ride would have looked great at night on the boardwalk, but I am happy to see them investing in cap ex regardless.

Regardless of it's location, it will be a great addition to a great park.

Indiana Beach, you go girl!! (snap-snap-snap)

LOL, Robobob....

I still say use the bumper cars' ROOF as a platform, and set the flyers on top....that way the SMELL of those bumper cars can be appreciated by the flier pilots! :)

LOL Robo...how butch ;)

mOOSH [actually likes Gator's idea....]

The original Elitch Gardens had a Spider ride on top of the bumper cars. It can be done. Flyers would be great if they were elevated 30 feet or so like that. Sounds like a good idea to me.

Cable-snappin' over the water? Sounds like a good idea to me!

Hey, the Jet Star perched on the bumper cars roof at Santa Cruz made that ride.

Very good idea McGator.

So they can't build lake platforms anymore? How about a shelf that's anchored to the shore, but extends over the lake? ;)

People seem to also forget that there is plenty of space down by the space shot ride for them to add a few smaller rides. There is another possibility there.

What I dont really get is why they can't build out into the lake which is a man made lake anyway. It just does not make sense as the lake was not there naturally. If it were then it would make sense to not destroy the lake environment.

What exactly is a "flying scooter"?

Ahhh cool, thanks dude. Those would fit in nicely at IB...although a top spin or another ride of that nature seems like it would be a little more exciting, but any new flat at IB is always neat, it's been a while since the last one, Double Shot.

Of course a Top Spin could hang ya over them man eating CARP!

Chuck, I'll take the flyers thank you very much! :)
