New article on Monstre at La Ronde

La Ronde's website just added a page giving an historical desription of the construction of the ride, including construction pictures of the ride!

It's really cool how they make the ride look like a pre-historic construction by presenting all images in black and white, when really, it's just 20 years old.
Well.. the crane seen in one pic gives it away though.
Maybe they just wanted to hide the sickly yellow-greenish-grey color if its wood.

I must say I have never seen another coaster like Le Monstre - it's really quite a confusing ride and a strange looking mountain of wood the layout of which I was never really able to understand when I was there - but that's also due to the fact that it's a 2 track coaster.
It was giving my skeleton a true IKEA Moebelfacta test when I rode it in 1996, but I heard it was re-tracked and is now a pleasure to ride. *** Edited 8/24/2005 4:48:12 PM UTC by superman***

Now I understand why IKEA never started building amusement parks.
