I was unable to find any other SLCs with the platform on the top, including a new coaster that was built in 2004 (The coaster pictured was opened in 2003).
Looks to me like that platform would be used to help evacuate the coaster at the top of the lift...

Well I figured that much, but couldn't think of why that is the only installation that has it.
Kumbak Coasters have been doing the installations of that addition most recently. Of course, Vekoma will do it for a wee bit more.
Morey's Great Nor'easter has one, although it's located pretty far beneath the track. Seems like a good place to put a ladder to reach the mechanism instead of a place to get people down.
Looks like an evac point to me...

I'm not so sure it's an evac point- there is no railing on the end, resulting in a nice little drop, should you loose your balance. Also, don't you think they would curve it closer to the train? No need to have it so far down. *** Edited 10/6/2004 6:44:42 PM UTC by Zero-G***
