Still doesn't look like any vertical construction has started. The recent central PA snow storms and average 15 degree weather may have slowed things down a bit.
I drove by there today and there was alot of activity going on. All the construction gates were open, and workers were in several different areas of the park working. I also noticed a small crane in place over by where the tophat will be. Vertical construction should be starting anyday. The station is going up nicely. From the looks of it that coaster will be a perfect fit in that area of the park, and I am glad to see that they are trying not to remove any mature trees. I am sure that it will be a great ride.
i go back to hersheys website alot to see any new photos of the new coaster, but i've yet to seen any track being put up besides the flat sections by the stations, lets hope in a little while we'll see some height coming to the ride
As of the 23rd, all of the launch section has been installed and the uprights and first upward curve to the tophat were being set. Those Ironheads are a pretty tough crew--there's not much that keeps them from putting steel together. Also, much of the internals to the launch have been set and the building sealed up and heated. All in all, I'd say it's moving along rather well. That's not to say it's not behind schedule, just moving along well.
