Need some DC transportation tips.

Hi and thanks for your help.

Is there anyone that knows much about any transportation systems that go to PKD, or BGW from Washington DC (if any at all)? Im going to be in the area next month and would love to go to those parks, but I won't have a rental car.

Thanks again =)

PKD is the closer of the two, and even then you'll want to rent a car.

It is possible to get reasonably close to SFA from downtown. The metro doesn't *quite* get you there, but I believe there is a bus that links the two. It doesn't run very late, so watch the time.

The bus from the metro to SFA stops right in front of the park. However, on weekends, it only runs once an hour and the last bus leaves the park at ~7pm (~9pm on weekdays w/ a 30min interval).

PKD is about 1hr 20min away from DC.
BGW is about 2.5 hrs away from DC.
You'll need a car to get back and forth from these parks,

Amtrack might have a stop in Ashland, VA from their you could taxi to PKD. The same with Williamsburg and BGW. Six Flags America take the blue line to Largo Town Center taxi/take bus to Six Flags America. You might want to call a taxi in advance and make sure they have taxi's that regular visit those rail stations/Metro stops.

A day at the park is what you make it!
