Need info for a CP roadtrip.

Since the majority of you are from Ohio, you probably know the surrounding businesses around Cedar Point. Where is the best place to lodge near the park, good places to eat, good place to party (Nightclub, sportsbar, etc) after the park closes? Also, does CP offer a 2 day discount ticket kind of like what Six Flags does? Planning on visiting CP and would like to go there 2 days in a row. Also,I am coming from Chicago so how long would it take to drive there?
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR THE INFO,,,,
SCOTT
Not sure how long it takes to drive from Chicago, but the best places to stay are right on the peninsula at one of the Cedar Point resorts. I will caution you, their prices are getting higher every season. But the area around CP (Rt. 250 from the Ohio turnpike) is packed with hotels & motels.

If you hop on over to cedarpoint.com, go to the section "Request a brocure" and sign up to receive one (or call 1-800-BEST FUN). You should then receive a Cedar Point Fun Guide in the mail within the next few months. The 2nd half of the Fun Guide is packed with information of the surrounding area, including what else to do, and other places to stay.

Not too sure about night life. (someone care to chime in on this one? I'm curious too!)

Night life blows out there... it defies all logic. The islands are hopping, if you can get out there. The lack of something cool right in the resort for after hours is fairly irritating.

Here's my advice: if you want to stay at a hotel, make a reservation ASAP!! Availability is limited--especially on weekends!
Sorry to say, night life sucks as much as everyone says.
And I'm going to estimate your drive time to be around 5 to 6 hours at the most.

TBDBITL for life!
i can make that drive in 4 and 1/2 to 5 hours. it is not too bad. we just take 80 all the way and only stop when really needed. the drive IS kind of boring, as it is all FLAT FLAT FLAT but otherwise, it goes vey fast. coming from Chicago, that is...

You dont know boring!!! Try to drive to CP from Columbus-71N to 23N (both continuous construction sites) to Rte 98 or Rte 4N
2 lane country back roads thru little 25mph & 35mph zones-
cows-corn-cows-corn
trip down not bad due to excitment-
try the 2.5 hour drive home after spending 12 hours in the park..one word:
No Doz

Welcome back Raptor riders-how was your flight?
Hey Luvraptor, its obviously clear you like the Raptor. Before 1994 what was the love of your life? Were you able to experience Batman the Ride at SFGam when it debuted in 1992 and was the first inverted looping coaster?
