Can anyone please give me some info. on Six Flags America......I hear mixed reviews about the park. Can someone please gimme some descriptions of rides, what the park is like and wait times???
Thanks to anyone
I believe it's the worst of all the Six Flag parks. They have 3 good coasters Roar,Wild One, and Superman. And 3 clones Jokers Junk (I mean Jinx)an Outer Limits outside. Two Face an invertigo (inverted Boomerang) and Mind Eraser A typical Vekoma SLC. They have possibly the worst employees of any park. I timed 5 minute dispatches on Roar with 2 trains running. At a normal park waiting time would have been 10 minutes add an extra 10 to 15 at SFA. They usually are short handed in staff so rides and games are closed. The bathrooms are small for a park were talking 4 urinals and 2 toilets. They only have a few flat rides maybe 15' but some are almost always closed. Parking is $8 then you need to pay to get in the park another $35 unless you have a Six Flags pass. When I went on the 4th of July I set of the metal detector at the enterance! They didn't even bother to scan me to check for weapons! SFA is only 15-20 minutes from D.C. a city with one of the highest murder rates in the US! You should at least visit SFA once to ride the coasters. In all if I had a choice I'd drive the extra hour and half and go to Kings Dominion. They have more rides and more coasters for about the same price maybe even less. Although both parks have horrible food.

Please do not let the others color your impresions of Six Flags America. It is not the greatest Six Flags park around, but it is still pretty good. Super Man, Jokers Jinx, Wild One, Two Face and the Mind Eraser are all good rides. None of them are overly rough, and JJ is actually quite smooth noe since they did some work on the trains. Dispatch times are only 5 minutes if the brakes lock up or someone changes their mind about the rides, which happens often. The park also includes a unique log flume and a free water park. Parking is 8 dollars and admission is 32 dollars, unless you have a Six Flags season pass, then it is free. The park is located on Central Avenue, Maryland route 214, 10 miles from the Beltway and 3 from U.S. route 301. If you are planing to eat in the park, go to either Subway or the Cayote Creek saloon. And no, I do not work for Six Flags, I work for Petsmart(Petsdumb).
Thanks guys...I think I am gonna stick with Six Flags America...it is a lot closer to my house...and it has some stuff I haven't ridden such as Superman: ROS and it has a GCI woodie...I've never been on a GCI. Also wanna try out Jokers Jynx because of the new restraints and wanna get on Two-Face (My first Invertigo)
Yeah Korn wild one is right the park isnt that bad. The only ride that I've ever had to wait more than 25min for was S:ROS and it was well worth it! I would actually suggest upon entering the park going to your left and riding Mind Eraser first then back tracking (ugh!) to Two-Face, Wild One, Roar, Jokers Jinx and then S:ROS. I only suggest S:ROS last because, if the crowds are sort of light, you will want to re-ride it and it's soooo far away from everthing else. By the way when are you going? Maybe we can link up. Holla at me at hostyl1@rollercoaster, and see if we can arrange something.
lata,
the hostyl one
hey hostyl,
that would be great...I am goin sometime in August...after the big Rage Against the Machine Concert.
Having done over 10 Six Flags Parks this Summer I would never call this park the worst!
It's got SUPERMAN: ROS , one of my all time favorite thrills. It seemed to me to be on a scale with SFKK and SFSL as far as size and number of rides, but I had a great day there in May. As for employees, I've seen that kind of behavior(ambivalence/low energy, etc.) at all the SF parks as well as most others. Ah well... Have fun!

As for worst I meant the employees. They take their time dispatching trains. Some are good but 5 minutes with 2 trains! Thats just way too long. And the secuity at the enterance just letting me enter the park without being scanned after setting off the metal detector. Thats just poor operation. I did have one good day at SFA once this year. Everything was walk on even Two Face. ROS was only a two train wait with one train. IMO their staff needs more training with a better staff it could be a great park. SFA IMO can't handle the crowds like other parks I thought it was great when it was walk on even though dispatches were still slow. Any park is good with walk ons though. I just expect more from SFA since the put the Six Flags name on it. When it was Adventure World or Wild World I'd expect the poor operations.

Thanx to all you guys for the help and information. BTW Daisy Bean...Great Adventure is my home park...it is great...Lines can get a little long, but the rides there are great(except Viper which is closed for the year, and skull mountain) PLus they have loads of good flat rides.
