Here's the deal. I'm taking a trip from Greenville, SC (flying) to visit my brother in Baton Rouge, LA. He wants to go to an amusement park while I'm there and he recommended a 3 hour drive to Houston to go to SFAW. Knowing very little about the park, I did some research on it. However, what I found was a general thumbs down for the entire park. Evidently, it's looked upon based on the age of the coasters in comparison to SFTexas. Not to mention no B&M coasters in the park! But, Dallas is 8 hours compared to 3, and 8 hours in a car sounds much less appealing to me. Is it worth it?!?! Help!!
what's worth 3 ho's now? anyway, what about Jazzland? i think it's somewhere around there.....

Never been to either parks, but looking at your track record......it looks like you've been on clones of 2 major SFAW coasters. Depends on how long you want planning to spend in Baton Rouge, I guess. It'll use up most of an extra day for the SFoT trip. It's your decision though, so I won't try to make up your mind for you. Just don't forget about the other parks. Jazzland, though it's real small, is probably 1.5 hours away, and SFFT is maybe 6 hours away.

Without a doubt, hit Jazzland. I was just at both parks less than a month ago. Mega Zeph was the best coaster of the whole trip! (SFOT, SFFT, SFAW, Jazzland) The only trouble is that the park is VERY small and you may run out of things to do. Astroworld did not impress me in any way shape or form. Maybe because no less than 4 coasters (Ultra Twister, Greezed Lightnin, Texas Tornado and Serpent) were down all day. Texas Cyclone was good, but Mega Zeph blows it out of the water!
Looking at your track record, you have not been on a CCI. Mega Zeph would be a great way to fix that!

Thanks for the help! I had seen Jazzland (or heard about), but figured it was just a tiny park.
Ok, color me moron here that I'm not getting the anagram CCI? I'm racking my brain and coming up with nothing after seeing a picture of MegaZeph.
You should go to SFAW. Texas Cyclone rules, and I haven't rode MegaZeph yet but I've heard it's a good coaster.
I have a cousin that lives 30 minutes from SFAW and after our last trip there, I won't bother to go angain. IMO, it is one of the worst SF parks out there. Haven't been to Jazzland, but anything has got to be better than SFAW.

Christ how do you kids do it
CCI stands for Custom Coasterss International, the designers and builders of Mega Zeph.
They are the current "measuring stick" for how good woodies can be! On the latest Hawker Poll, 8 of the top 10 woodies worldwide were CCI's. Mega Zeph was #16. (I feel it should have been higher)
