NBC wins Vivendi Universal Entertainment deal

The NBC television network won Vivendi Universal's auction on Tuesday with a merger plan to create a new entertainment industry giant valued at more than $40 billion. In the deal, a new company will be formed, with GE (NBC's parent company) owning 80% and Vivendi owning 20%.

Wow, through all of the stupidity, I have to hand it to the Vivendi board. This is a pretty sweet deal. Very forward looking, since the long-term revenue prospect is very good.
