NBC wins Vivendi Bidding.

Yahoo! News story.

I'll submit it to news, too, when I find something that's from another source.

Personally, I can NOT wait for the first ride at IoA themed to a Bravo-network show.....:)

Will the Fab Five from Queer Eye get to engage in mortal combat with the Fantastic Four? One can only hope....

edit: P.S. Thanks Maddie....While I would have preferred Bronfman to NBC, I think it'll work out for the best to get Vivendi OUT of the business before anything "bad" happened...;)

Gee, I guess that means all three of the old TV networks are somehow connected to the amusement park business...

Disney owns ABC

NBC is apparently buying Universal

Viacom, which owns Paramount Parks, also owns a large chunk of CBS.

Next thing you know, NewsCorp will be buying into Six Flags!

Also, AOL is affiliated with Time/Warner, which is affiliated with Six Flags. So,... Six Flags IS the AOL of the coaster industry!

Well, I used to be able to see TTD from my house, then I moved.
Life's not fair.

actually, all of the six, except fox, have dipped into amusement parks. WB with six flags through aol/time/warner and UPN as well as CBS with paramount through viacom.

horray for conglomerates!

I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed for "Friends: The Ride" to appear sometime in the future. :P

Moosh will be here all night. Make sure to tip your waitress.

Anywho..... My first question is, just how stable financially is NBC? I'm sure they're pretty well off if they can afford the parks in the first place, but, what does that do for future expansions? Will the Mummy be the last 'new' attraction we see for a while?

Oh yeah, my bet's on taking a trip on 'Jennifer Anniston: The Ride', getting a quick bite to eat at the diner from Sienfeld, getting profusely sick, thus making my way to the 'ER First Aid Station', and topping the evening off with a little night bowling and drawing up my will at 'Ed's.....

I've still got my fingures crossed that FOX will one day build there own Movie Park.

I was holding out that MGM/UA would end up winning, but they dropped out, so I guess I'm glad that NBC won instead. Disney needs all the competition they can get....

That's all that remains of the once pretty ordinary Fox Studios Backlot theme park that opened in 1999 and closed two years later. Over-priced tickets for all of eight attractions, only one of which a ride could be blamed. It's now a free-entry entertainment region of Sydney. I don't expect that this left a sweet taste in Rupert's mouth (or pocket), so I wouldn't hold your breath on a Fox park just yet. :)

Too bad....A Star Wars themed area woulda been cool. Heck, an entire Star Wars park would be cool. It'd have to be better than the last two movies though. ;)

Fox could have some nice rides. I'd like to see an intense ride based on 1979's Alien. (Which was what Alien Encounter was in it's early planning stages)

Too bad it didn't take off. Fox has Star Wars, the Simpsons, Terminator, Ice Age, and so on. Perfect park material......
