Wish I had 3.75 grand lieing around to do that. Oh well, before that happens I guess I will just have to be "content" by spending more in the neighborhood of 3.75 hundred on season passes and day trips :).

Ahhh, well screw the Russian company. Go to Florida!

When I saw the price my heart sank.

Hamster - I shouldn't have made such a blanket statement like that. I usually self-censor. I'm sorry. Let me correct myself by rephrasing:

"Most of us aren't too afraid of the coasters we encounter - even when a particular macine is new to us. We tend to love feeling the physical effects and embrace instead of shying away from them."

Here's To Shorter Lines & Longer Trip Reports!

I got.....Surround Sound. ;) Seriously, I'm in Il, about 60 miles east of Great America on Directv. Yes I have sound.*** Edited 5/30/2006 12:44:10 AM UTC by stoogemanmoe*** *** Edited 5/30/2006 2:28:08 AM UTC by stoogemanmoe***

60 miles east of Great America is the middle of Lake Michigan haha

No way that guy is going to get that city coaster built in San Francisco. As sweet as it would be to ride an LIM assisted ride of the Golden Gate, I just don't see the City allowing it.

That design by Premier for that single flyer design... Does that just scream capacity issues?

^It'd be the longest que in history. That was the first thing my girlfriend said: the line would be huge!
I think it would be fun though.

HaHa I said capacity nightmare and my friend was like.. "it won't be that bad" HaHa. He thought even thow that guy said for the individual or however he stated it they could still do "launch one wait launch another" not realizing that would do very little to fix capacity issues. Does look fun but I don't think any park in North America will be getting one anytime soon.

I am going Downtown Tonight with a note pad and drawing up an Idea for a City coaster here in Omaha Nebraska. Figure we can't ever get a park built here how about a Coaster Tour of downtown.

P.S. If someone could get me financial backing we would have a world class Thrill Park in the Heart America. I have been waiting to long.

I had no problems watching the show on comcast channel 109 myself but the program content wasn't too impressive when compared to other shows...save for the footage of FOF & the B&M fabrication process in Cincy....I just wish they would've gone into detail on the different B&M designs such as the floorless but all they focused on was their invert.

I saw that idea for the flyer that premier had in the 2nd hour & thought man that thing's gonna stink capacity wise & it wouldn't be anything revolutionary when both vekoma & B&M have been producing flyers in their inventory with better capacity for a number of years now.

Yeah, I was in the filming for Flight of Fear, and I've been to the SOFCO plant myself.

I also sat on Beast for four hours filming that, but they didn't use very much footage of it. :(

At its best, the show was really interesting. I liked all the information about the physiology (wonder if Markey watched it). At its worst, which didn't happen that often, it was like a thread in here about to get closed. Got a little bit into the "who holds which records" topics.

Like they said with the SanFran city-wide coaster idea, much of the technology may already be in place. The problems with something like that are going to be property acquisition and retrofitting. And of course, I sat there thinking "who in the world is going to own and maintain this thing?"

Anyone notice that every coaster show that has TTD on it has them with the tires and wing on it? I like the way they said TTD and KK are always down so everyone knows Intamin coasters are unreliable. You would think that Intamin would try to build coasters that work before parks stop buying them. B&M is the rollsroyce of coasters like everyone don't know that!
^The show actually used coaster fan's terms for B&M: The Mercedes Benz of Roller Coaster Designers. That show was seriously the most well done program on coasters Ive seen.

I like the coverage of Son of Beast. They really went out of their way to not say it was a total POS, but yet implied it quite well. That and the brutal honesty about the uptime of Ka and Dragster really made it a fun show to watch.

Certain victory.

The Mercedes Benz of Roller Coaster Designers.

Their deisels knock sensors go bad and have serious transmission issues?

Sorry, could not help myself. :) *** Edited 5/30/2006 11:26:39 PM UTC by coastern3rd***

^ I am more of an Arrow/S&S type of person. But I still like B&M and some Intamin.

Man you really messed up!!!!!!

WOW I hope this was the real sarcasm!

I miss Drachen Fire

I *personally* have never heard (read) B&M referred to as th Mercedes Benz of coasterdom. In fact, when they said that on the show, I had a geeky moment and thought "Uh-unn, B&M coasters are Beemers! (BMWs)."

Not that I have any affection *at all* for BMWs. ;)

^^Quite real.
considering how many times those shows mess things up, namely names, I couldn't resist that.
:)

If B&M is the Mercedes, is Vekoma the Hearse? *** Edited 5/31/2006 12:52:16 PM UTC by FLYINGSCOOTER***

It's because they used stock footage from an earlier coaster show<ultimate thrill rides I believe>...back before CP took the theming off of the ride.

Most of the old discovery channel shows did the same thing & perhaps that's one reason why nearly every show they produced focused mainly on SFMM or CP coasters simply because they had the stock footage already in place to work with.
