Names for the two halves of Shockwave?

Hypothetical question.....

Let's say that you did split off Shockwave into two separate rides. If you were given the authority to name and theme them, what would you pick? I would pay homage to the big blue beast by keeping a part of it's name in both coasters.

One I would call "Aftershock" and theme it like an old earthquake ride, with crumbled corners on the station and the like. I was thinking a rust red/yellow color scheme.

The other I would call "Waverider" and theme it like a PWC (personal watercraft) brochure, keeping the original blue and white and maybe adding a little orange.

What would you guys (and gals) do?

First of all I haven't heard any rumors like that, and I think it's an idea thats insane.

Second, I would call one of them the "Headbanger" and theme it like a mosh pit atmosphere with a trip to the emergency room at the end, the second half I would call the "Migraine Train" and have the sponsor be Aleve or Advil. Paint it the colors of the packaging for either product. They could even hand out free samples at the exit turnstile.

Hey, you asked!

How about "Not" and "Gonna Happen" ...

This rumor is just that a rumor. it was started on this board over a week ago... There is NOTHING to suggest this would happen.. And in addition.. It would be really stupid.

It makes NO business sense at all to do it..

I wouldn't even call it a rumor... There was a joke about it and now somehow people are starting to think it might really happen. Oh, what the world would be like without the internet....

That goes to show the joke wasn't that funny if people actually believed it.
How would it be possible to split that ride into two separate independant working rides? It's just not even possible for even a rumor...

Actually, I've never had a problem with any of Arrow's vertical loops, and think that by replacing the "unbanked transitions", that Shock (the first half), could make an very good ride.....

Now as for Wave, the part after the MCBR....well, we HAVE Python here at BGT, and the ONLY Arrow 'screw I've found enjoyable was the one on Vortex....nice and slow...I don't know WHAT park would accept Wave, but it wouldn't be mine....(unless we could remove the OTSRs perhaps....hmmm).

I can't give them names, however, until I know which parks and which *themed* areas they're going to.....

Sheesh, I wasn't trying to defend/perpetuate the rumor/joke or argue it's business case. I was just thinking about names and themes. Thus the beginning "Hypothetical question..."

Calm down folks.

I'll edit my first post to make it a little clearer....

SFEG - Triple Flat paddywhack flapjack, or Spinout

SFAW - something along the lines of Viper, like Snake. (someone please understand my joke!!)

I don't see what is so hard to believe. Arrow has proven time and again that they don't necessarily need to be financially solvent to build successful coasters. The same can be done here, and in effect repair the fragile relationship the Six Flags has with Arrow. More power to them. Again, according to my sources, this rumor has "legs." You never know which way is up with builders, designers, etc. From what I know from those in the know, both in the Midwest, and Los Angeles, the sky is the limit with this new Shock/Wave.:)

So if they did split it, how would you count your track record? Three separate coasters?

Unless a coaster has been moved in its original form, ala The Corkscrew at Silverwood, it's a different coaster... At least in my book. Combine that with M:TR and you got 4! Yes, 4!;)

Aftershock and Waverider? Weren't those character names of certain Transformers Toys back in the 80's?
I don't see how there could seriously be a multiple page post about coasters leaving the rails (come on...) and automatically slam this fantasy topic. Of course it's impossible, but who cares? I, EchoVictor, would have the two rides as such. I would have one simply become a smaller corkscrew model with one vertical loop and the two corkscrews, and I would have the other with two vertical loops and the boomerang, much like Orient Express. As for where I would put them, I don't know, but it's just a wierd thing to THINK about, ONLY THINK about, NOT FOR REAL.

didn't this rumor get started by someone saying that you would have to travel to SFA and houston to ride shockwave when they really meant or not and but everybody just takes things and goes with it. Remember CP's GigaWoodie. Yeah! That is not gonna happen.

And anyway... Why would you take one bad ride and split it up into two bad rides???

Wow...so many of you have short memories. Have we all forgotten what heppened to Steel Phantom? Sure, it was Morgan doing the work, but taking parts of coasters, adding new parts, and making a brand new coaster *IS* entirely possible. Why then is it so hard to believe a coaster can't be moved or split and the same thing done?

Why is everyone a pessimist?

Moosh - not inclunding chris or nasai in that last comment.
