Myrtle Beach mayor announces $80-100 million Chinese theme park

I didn't think this qualified as actual news, as a $100 million Epcot-like "Chinese cultural theme park" for which no land has been purchased opening by 2018 at the latest in an area with such a remarkable history of successful theme parks seems unlikely.

That's a good bit less to lose than $450 mil...go for it!

I don't know about this. Doesn't Splendid China already lay in ruin somewhere?

A gold star to MAC; Splendid China, with some 60-odd 1/10th scale replicas of Chinese landmarks, operated near Orlando for 10 years starting in 1993.

I don't think of Chinese culture when I think of Myrtle Beach.
