My wishes for the Six Flags Parks

Friday, August 24, 2001 5:38 PM
Hey y'all! I just wanted to express my opinion on what I think the US Six Flags Parks should get next year (or at least in a few years). But keep in mind that I have only been to 3 Six Flags parks, SFSTL, SFOT, SFGAm. (soon to be 4, I'm going to SFEG next week). Ok, here goes:

SFAW: I really want to see some NEW stuff here. Maybe some NEW coasters, NEW flat rides, etc. Maybe replace XLR-8 with a new Suspended. If they want a "family" ride, then I would suggest a Mad Mouse or something.

SFMM, SFWOA, and SFGADv: I really think these parks have enough stuff to do for a few years. I think Six Flags Inc. should invest less of their money in the bigger parks, and improve the smaller parks. But, Lap Bars on Batman & Robin would be awesome!

SFEG: I'm really not sure what SFEG has the space to do. I imagine they could sqeeze a coaster in somewhere! lol Maybe they could have a hyper that they could put alot of the coaster over the existing rides and walkways.

SFMW: They have been getting some really nice rides recently. I like the way Six Flags has added stuff to this park. I would say 4d would be cool. (It might create some serious competition with Stealth at PGA)

SFOT: This park has alot of rides, but I would like to see some more flat rides here. Or, maybe I should say, some newer flat rides. Maybe in the Gotham City area. When I went there, Mr. Freeze wasn't open yet (i think it was the year that the Mr. Freeze's didn't open), so I'm not sure what kind of space is there with Batman and all.

SFFT: Like SFMW, I think Six Flags has done really well adding rides to this park. An inverted would be awesome here.

SFA: This park seems to get major attractions every year! Oh wait, that is because I think it HAS! lol Roar, Joker's Jinx, Two Face, Superman, and then the new one this year! I would LOVE it if my home park added as much in the past few years as this park has. (like SFGADV!)

SFSTL: Ahh, my home park. ;-)  I would love to see maybe 1 new major coaster, a new kiddie coaster, and several flat rides. No offense, but the kiddie area of SFSTL looks kinda bad compared to the oneS at SFGAm! I mean, it is cute and all, but it could be better. I would love to see a stand-up here. Or at least some sort of B&M! And flat rides! Please add flats! lol And a drop ride! There aren't very many parks left without a drop ride!

SFOG: I think a B&M hyper would make a nice addtion here.

SFNE: I love looking at pictures of this park! I'm not sure why! lol I think it is because of the newer flat rides that they have. I hope their new coaster is a stand-up! I think we need more stand-ups in the world! ;-)

SFDL: I don't know that much about this park, so I'm not sure what to add. Sorry

Well, that is what I think. Did I leave any park out? I don't think I did. Anyways, That is my opinion. What do y'all thing?

As for SFDL, any relatively new coaster would be good.  A 4-D, stand-up, and drop ride is probably tops on the list.

As for SFOG, my home park, any hyper (or giga :)) will do.

You know what Six Flags needs?? To keep their guests happy!

Forget Coasters for now. Improve public relations, get rid of that Fastlane system. etc ,etc..

You left SFGAM out, but i guess it fits in with SFMM, SFGADV, and SFWOA.

I would like to know how you can analyze each Six Flags park when you say you've only been to three in your life.  First off, have you ever ridden the coasters at some of these other six flags'?  Don't go making what you think would be some improvements when you haven't even been to the park.  Frankly, we don't really care what someone who doesn't know a thing about a park really thinks.  Secondly, if you'd notice, GAdv only gets a new coaster on average every two years, some times even longer than that.  I'll admit we may have more than some other parks...but we certainly aren't getting the SFMM, SFWoA, and even SFA treatment.

Correct  me if  I'm wrong  here .But Roar @ SFA  wasn't built  by SFA.  It  was  the  last  ride  built  by  the  former  Adventure  World  for  the  98  season. Just  thought  I'd  pass that  along.

Chewman, I just did this for fun. :-) I know I haven't been on all of the rides, but I just thought it would be fun to post something like this. About SFGADV, They got a bunch of rides in 99, so I would consider that to be major "special treatment". You are right, I haven't been on many of these coasters, but still I like to talk about them. I'm sorry if I made you mad with what I said about SFGADV (About them not really needing anything else at the moment), but that is just my opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I'm sorry you didn't like my post.

I'm sorry I left out SFGAM! Oh no! lol It is one of my fav parks, too! Man! Oh well. Sorry again! :-) And Batwing Fan SFA, thanks for bringing Roar to my attention. I think I might have known that it was added "pre-Six Flags", but maybe I forgot about it. :-) Thanks again.

My home park is Six Flags Elitch Gardens. This is a list of things that I would like to see be done to the park.

1.) "They" (SFEG) take out Twister II and add a Deja Vu clone if the ride "works out." Or they could add a small floorless or make the ride extend into the junk yard behind Twister II.

2.) Take out Mind Eraser and the Pepsi Groves and add a B&M hypercoaster. The station would be where the current Mind Eraser station is now. The lift would be higher then 230 ft, like Nitro, and extend into the open land behind Island Kingdom water park.

3.) Take out Sidewinder and find a way to put a Vertical Velocity clone in Sidewinder's place.

I would like to see my number 2 idea put into "action". Only time will tell...

I would really like to see SFOT get a floorless or even a regular standup! They do need some more flat rides. I would like to see them put Chaos in or get rid of The Conquistador and put in an inverted ship!

Raging Bull......... Why do you want SFEG to take out coasters!!?? I hate how people say that parks should take a coaster out and replace it with.... Why do that at all?? How about you just ask the park to add more rides and leave the existing rides where they are. SFEG has enough room and the purposely moved their park from the previous location to have more room to expand. I'm sad that they left Twister there though.... but their mistake was Knoebels gain. Also... I don't think Twister II would be taken out anytime soon because it is there to commemerate (sp) and honor the original Twister at their previous location. Just ask SFEG to keep all of their old coasters and add the new ones around the existing rides.

Also the reason that SFA, SFGAd, and SFMM are because they are the staple SF parks and are the biggest money makers. SFMM dominates the west coast with the coasters and attracts a large number of people and wants to keep bringing people to their parks... so they keep adding rides. Also..... the East Coast and New England region are supposed to be the prime places to set up amusement parks because of the large population on the East Coast. SFGAd has always been a staple porperty and dominates the New England area and attracts large numbers of people. SFA keeps adding rides because SFA is in the New England and Mid-Atlantic area where there are many people. SF wants SFA to become a major theme park because it has tons of land and a lot of potential. Look for a new coaster next year at SFA or the year after that. SFA has a plan for at least three coasters.... the 1st was Superman..... the 2nd was Batwing and there is a third coaster.... which is a suspected stand-up beut those are only rumors. Nobody knows what the 3rd coaster will actually be. Suspect something soon and SFA will continue to expand and become a staple SF property.

Why do that? We already have a regular Boomerang.

3.) Take out Sidewinder and find a way to put a Vertical Velocity clone in Sidewinder's place.

I hope SFEG never takes Sidewinder out. The ride is a rare, classic, Arrow shuttle-loop! Sidewinder is a great ride.

SFoT will never get a floorless, SFFT has one... As for a stand-up, I think they're pretty much old news... Maybe SFoT will go for something new (prototype?). What the park really needs is flat rides, flat rides, flat rides! There's only a few outdated one, Chaos are OK but I'd love to see a Splashover or Top Scan, ones that really draw crowds.

ACE15 -

If you are saying that Twister II is "in memory" of Mr. Twister, "they" didn't design it good, IMO. The ride is WAY ROUGHER THEN Mean Streak.

If Twister II is keep (I hope not: IMO) then the ride should get new trains and get a paint job. If you are in the front seat, on the lift, the wood near the chain is brown.

How about you just ask the park to add more rides and leave the existing rides where they are.

If you ever get the chance to go to the park, there is no room for any coaster without taking something out. There is land behind Island Kingdom water park but if SFEG wanted to use the land, they would have to take out the Pepsi Groves.

I think Six Flags in general could have cleaner restrooms and soda machines that work. I can write this only because this has been my experience every time I've gone to a Six Flags Park and it didn't seem to matter which one it was.

I wouldn't mind a 4-D at SFMW but I would rather an Intamin hyper coaster similar to S:RoS. I don't think SFMW is desperately in need of flat rides but I would like them to add some more (you can never have too many :)). The last thing I would want is for SF to clean up and theme the park. I hate going over the amazing first drop of Medusa and seeing parking spaces, it just kind of ruins the feel for the ride. I notice a lot of graffiti on the handrails of SFMW's coasters, so I was wondering if maybe "they" could paint them or something.

SFMWManiac87...I don't think you can expect a 4-D at SFMW because SFMM has the only one right now, and they aren't gonna put two 4-D's in one state when the rest of the country is drooling all over the thought of one in their area.  Also, SFGAdv has the grafiti problem.  The only problem with painting over it is that the next year, it will just get defaced again.  It's really a sad, sad thing.  If they could only keep the parks clean.

Yeah Chewman, that's what I originally thought. That's why I said I'd rather have a hyper. :)
