My Very First SRM and a quick visit to SFKK

Associated parks:
None

Thursday 3/30

After leaving my house at 2:30 in Pittsburgh, PA and many trips to different houses, the five of us, Me, Joe, Tim, Dan, and Bryan finally made it to the Motel 6 in Dale, IN at 12:00am CT. This night's sleep turned out to be an uneasy one finding out there were alot of people who snore.

Friday 3/31

Me and Joe opted to sleep in because we had visited HW before and didn't want to burn ourselves out early, while the rest of our party went to HW. Then at 5:00 we left for the first night of ERT. After standing around for a little and meeting up with fellow Coaster Buzzers, GregLeg, Loriu, Steve, Hostyl1, and some others that I can't remember at this time, we headed off into the park.

HW treated us to some of the best pizza in the world. The small packets of fudge and peanut butter were outstanding. Of course as much pop we could possibly drink.

Raven: This night, the ride was running amazing. Completely different then the day time rides. Loaded with airtime and laterals. Just as I remembered it from last year but with and extra little "pip" to it with the newly re-tracked ... track.

Legend: I'm so darn gald those G-Trains are gone. After our first incredible ride, we got off, felt for burses or any other soreness... nope, none, so we got back on and on and on. Legend jump instantly from my number 6 to number 1. Lots of airtime and laterals. Fast, fun, and furious ride. All the way through, it never let up.

Saturday 6/1

In the morning, Tim, Dan, and Bryan opted to do the ERT on Zoombawee. Me and Joe sat out and later on left to take some spins on Legend. Throughout the entire day I met so many people I never knew personally before. CBers, URCers, RRCers, all kinds of people. At this time i'd like to mention all of them but the list would be too long. It was very nice meeting all of you and hope to see you all at CoasterMania!

After meeting back up with Jeremy(Hostyl1), eating some tasty HW food, and spilling pop on me for the second event in a row, ERT began for the second and last night of SRM. Legend and Raven were running faster and better then the previous night. Glow sticks gallore and non-stop fun. As many have stated before me, Mick Foley was in attendence. I managed to chit chat with him for a minute or two and grab an autograph. After quite a few laps on Legend, we ended SRM and parted ways with our fellow enthusiasts.

Sunday 6/2

My goal was to ride Chang, Twisted Twins, Thunder Run, and purchased my SF season pass. The park was still the same as I remember it. Empty ride section and the Hurricane Bay area PACKED with people. The rides were ok but nothing spectacular. Thunder Run was alot smoother then last year but still hops along the track at the very end. Very odd indeed. We managed to spot Mick Foley again exiting Roller Skater. We didn't want to bother him because we had already talked. Nothing interesting to tell all of you. The park is the same, nothing has changed with the expection of some new thrill rides. After saying goodbye to Jeremy, we headed back home for a very long 7 hour drive.

SRM was amazing and i'd like to thank Holiday World for treating us to such a special time. Also, it was such a joy meeting all those newbies I had never known before. I hope to see you again!
