My suggestion to PKI

Looking at old pictures of the Racer at PKI makes me realize how much better it looked when it was red, white, and blue (at least, in my opinion).  What better time to restore it to its former glory than now when the country is (rightly) on such a huge patriotic kick?  It would appear as an effort to be patriotic by the park, making them look good, and it wouldn't be that expensive either since the superstructure of the ride is still white - at least that's my uneducated guess.  And while they're at it, since the entrance sign to the ride is so faded, maybe they could get a new one with the flag on it made.  I think this would rejuvinate the ride and its image in the park.

Anyway, after I thought of this, I e-mailed the park and will hopefully get a reply from guest services soon (oh the things one does to try to cure his boredom during Christmas break).

creative name by the way, haha :)

PKI need a Giga.......oh, wait...sorry! ;)
I am in COMPLETE agreement with MooreOn. I too have noticed lately that this great and historic ride not only needs painted soon, but would look sooooo good in it's original scheme. If we must settle for orange bars and headrests (and no last dip!), we can at least have it restored visually. I have a couple of books showing it during the '80s, and those rails and handrails really make a difference. This is one ride I have always wanted to model. I also know that certain KI folk read Cbuzz, so as long as your ideas are realistic and feasible, they will do their best to utilize them. I for one am thoroughly pleased with most of what they have done in the last few years (including the introduction of another flat ride). Thank you for painting my Vortex!

I think the best thing that PKI done in the last few years is taken their Guest Relations Dept. above and beyond! Bravo Guys!
Top Gun Deffinetley needs new cars or at least new Over the shoulder restraints!!!!!  Every time I've been there this summer the car REAKED of sweat, puke, and a few other things I'm not sure of.  The OtSR have a lot of chips in them too!

Also, MooreOn is most deffinetly right.  The Racer is overdue for a makeover!  http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery69.htm?Picture=2

I just don't get why pki hasn't done it yet?!  I mean, a lot of people have been suggesting they do it for the past year orso, and now more than ever is the perfect time not just to be patriotic(WTC) but for pki's 30th ANN. as well!

I think .Thunder Road, Racer, and Rebel Yell should all get painted to red, white, and blue again...
I would just like to see The Racer "race" again.

When the coaster was named  "The Racer" I think it was for the intiention that they race.

Now most of the time they don't race. Mabye they should change the name from "The Racer" to "Two coasters who have the same track"

I still like Rideman's "Racer and recaR!" The idea of painting all three of Kings Entertainment's woodies is good, but I don't remember Rebel Yell looking all that bad in 2000. And kids, don't get your panties in a bind cause I'm sure you'll see another B&M someday! :)

Actually, the Racer raced every time I was there in 2001.  First time in a while.

What they need to do is replace the last bunny hop that was removed about 5 years ago.  It had great headchoppers.

-----------------
You can't spell "dishonorable" without "honorable."

Why did they ever remove the hop in the first place?
Get a B&M! That could boost the already great park to a even higher level.
Painting the Racer is a good idea.  I would also like to see a path opened up that goes from the Action Theatre (7th Portal), around the back of Vortex, and then to the exit path of the beast.  This would give another angle to see V'tex at, and it would be back in the woods, which would be neat.  KI should put some new flats on this path too, and then maybe in the future add a gigacoaster (or any coaster) back there that would be aimed between The Beast and The Racer.  This path could be themed to the current "Rivertown" theme.

Try Flight of Fear version 2.0: It's great!
I think PKI's Eiffel Tower needs a paint job because in the 70's the Tower was green and now it is powder blue.

PKI Dude
i'm with mr. peck on this one.  the best thing that pki has done in the last 10 years has been their guest relations.  they have the best guest relations and marketing approaches in the business.  i would love to get the opportunity to work in an environment that is so consistently leading the industry in guest relations and marketing management.
The "racing" of the two coaster carts was stopped due to low park attendance. Seeing this conversation brought that back into my head as to why they did that. I remember asking public relations and some of the ride mechanics while i was there last year. They did though, race them when there was alot of people (summer) and when it was night time (on special occasions)
