My, my how the advertising has changed

Sorry if this has been brought up before, but I did a search and found nothing. While playing around with some internet sites, I found a site which allows you to view a web site from different years. (For instance, you can find out what CBuzz looked like in 2000.) Well, after checking out a few sites I decided to look up the Six Flags site. Lo and behold, I found a link to the site from 1996. After clicking the link and reading a little, I found this amazing fact: "Every Six Flags Theme Park, except one, is larger than Disneyland." At this time SF had 12 parks. How often anymore do you see that as an advertising ploy?

That doesn't really surprise me. I've not been to Disneyland, but the way people describe it, it doesn't cover a lot of area.

Ever look at an aerial pic of Disneyland. Most of the rides aren't even in the park proper! The show buildings of Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones, and Small World are outside of the park! (Ever wonder why you have to walk a mile from the Indy entrance to board? You have to walk all the way to reclaimned parking lot! Same reason Pirates has the big drop....they had to go under the train track and outside of the park! Also same reason the "elevator in Mansion actually goes down unlike the WDW version.....you have to walk under the train track and outside of the park :) )

I believe they're about 125 acres, that said, even lil ole SFA is bigger! But as we all know, quantity doesn't always outweigh quality.

never met a coaster I didn't ride (except Junior Geminii) :(

Look how tiny it is!

Subtract the Rivers of America and the Jungle cruise since you can't walk there. Now look at the area to walk around in! It's TINY TINY TINY! Identify the Indy, Pirates, Mansion, and Small World building....see how they're outside of the park?
