My 60 minutes of RCT3...

I got the trial to work, which I really appreciate Gamespot doing.

For those of you who haven't used it yet, here's the deal:

First things first. You need a good video card. Period. The game is a nightmare without one. I have a good video card I found online and it'll be on my doorstep on Thursday before 4:30.

So I won't really talk about graphics, other than it runs slow with my current card.

Things I checked out mainly:

From what I see, there are NO signs other than scrolling signs which I find VERY annoying.

Like I figured there aren't ride ops in the game.

Giga Coaster -> There still is no vertical or near vertical drop mode which is a huge problem for me, or anyone else making a MF recreation. ALso the brakes are mounted undereith the train instead of on the sides, which makes it even more unaccurate than RCT2.

Strata Coaster -> HUGE PROBLEMS HERE. The cars are themed to race cars which makes it great for people recreating TTD, BUT there are NO overbanked turns, NO inversions, an basically the same options as the Air Powered vertical in RCT2. Not only that but there is no flat to steep option to make a gradual drop which is complete BS! That's ridiculous, it looked so goofy when you tree to make a tall Rocket. One other thing is that it is only a station launch and you can't see the cable.

I'm extremely happy the Rocket made it into the new game but I'm dissappointed with it's options.

That's mainly what I checked out, because each games took a long time to load.

Also to note, Impulses still have no holding brake but each spike is considered a circuit, which makes it more accurate because you can end on the front spike.

The scenery looks good, and so do the animated ones. I'm a bit dissappointed with the coasters but the flat rides look great.

You all know the positive aspects of the game, so I just brought up some issues that I found.

EDIT: SORRY I ACCIDENTLY POSTED IN GENERAL BUZZ *** Edited 10/27/2004 1:26:14 AM UTC by Ride of Steel***

I could of swore their was some signs besides the "arched sign" I was going through the demo options and scenery, it was buried through all that junk. but since i don't get the game till Nov. 2nd i don't know what changes there are if the UI is differant or anything else i caught, But is it possible to build TTD in RCT3? I really want to know,...thanks for the flaw tips, maybe someday they will catch them and write it down! lol
I wish I could have downloaded the 60 minute trial while I could. My preorder is coming in tommorrow though so no worries for me.

It ran good with my GeForce4 Ti4200 (over 2 years old) card and it runs fine on my laptop with an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro. So, you need a DECENT video card, but not a top of the line card. You do NOT want to be running this game with an integrated graphics chipset like most base model Dells have.

They really needed 2 different coasters for the Intamin hydraulic launch coasters. They should have had a "rocket" coaster like Storm Runner and a stratacoaster like TTD and Kingda Ka.
