Musings: first Nitro pics and PKI's additions for

With the first Nitro pics coming out over on Thrillride, it seems to me that the ride will probably be in the same class as Apollo and R Bull, more or less a standard hyper (maybe 210-250 ft high). Be it a twister, or more likely and out-n-back, it'll still be a great addition to the park even though I STILL hate the color.

Anyway, word leaking from non-coaster con is slowly producing PKI info. They say a 50ft tall Vekoma family inverted, the first of its kind, is going in. It's coming in at 25 mph and 1100 feet in length or so, kinda makes me wonder about its capacity, but as usual I digress....

I very much like the possiblity of the Thornberries log flume to use the same layout as the old King's Mills LF, just with a TON more theming. I wonder if the bathrooms located near that location will be moved for greater access to Nick Zone, since it's to be roughly double what it used to be....

Here's hoping all the hyper talk for 2K2 is correct.
I'm not sure why PKI has not announced this yet when so many people know about it. Boy, this park sure loves their kiddie/family coasters...this will be the sixth one.
Ok, six family coasters?

1)Beastie
2)Top Cat's Taxi Jam
3)Scooby's Ghoster Ghoster
4)New Family Invert
5 and 6)?

The Rest-

1)The Beast
2)Son of Beast
3)Face/Off
4)The Racer(counting this one?)
5)Flight of Fear
6)Vortex
7)Top Gun
8)King Cobra
9)Adventure Express(counting this one?)

So what's five and six?
I'm still hoping for the 2 in 2002 from PKI. Cross your fingers for an hyper and an invert.
Nitro is looking awesome.

Get wrapped in the coils of Viper at SFGAm.
I heard that the inverted would travel at 35 miles per hour, from a season pass holder newsletter that was mailed to me in the fall.
I heard that the coaster was gonna be done by Arrow. Is this just an old rumor?
Shouldn't this be two seperate posts? Just my thoughts.
Does anyone know what PKI is adding in 2002?

I like how Jeff Siebert put it during the NAPHA event:

paraphrased:
"what are we getting in 2002? We don't know yet, but we'll go check the Internet to see what we are getting" ;)

What about Silver Streak at PCW? Is it not the first Vekoma Family Inverted?

It's a Vekoma Family Suspended...
My bad.

Bcdzoom: Yep, I'm counting Adventure Express as a family coaster. That's what PKI labels it as too. My bad, the total is 5, not 6. I thought there was another kiddie one in Hanna Barbara Land. But still, 5 is a lot for kiddie/family coasters. Their total coaster count is misleading when most parks have just 1, 2 or 3.
Adventure express may be considered a family coaster, but its not like a kiddie coaster, like the Beastie or Scooby`s Ghoster Coaster(I thought that Scooby`s Ghoster coaster, when I rode it with my five year old cousin on the last day of 2000, was quite rough, and boring)
CoasterGod, Since PKI opens earlier in the coaster season than PCW does, wouldn't PKI get the title of the World's First Family Inverted coaster? Maybe that's why..

I hope Nitro will be on the same caliber with Apollo or better. SfGAdv is only an hour from my house, I just prefer Dorney and Hershey.
My 100th Post!
Celebrate!
