Mummy (orlando) Commercial

I was just watching TV and I saw a commercial for Universal Studios Florida and in the commercial it showed a few shots of the Mummy Ride. Like some of the robotics and restraint system for the ride. Good news as far as that goes it was only lap bars! Of course this was a commercial so it could easily be very very wrong! Just thought I would let you all know.

If the commercials are up and running, the ride itself can't be toooo far behind, huh?

Buzz was the ride would open sometime in April? Anyone with more info? Heading down there April 12-14 with fingers crossed....

What's so odd about lap bars Wildfire01? Premiere rides has been using them on all their launchers since 01 (except speed:the ride) & they've certainly been a major improvement as far as comfort is concerned.

And these are supposedly "Premier" rollercoasters. I know we had heard Vekoma at one time but it seems to me that more recently I have been hearing they are made by Premier.

Take what I say as a grain of salt though because I do not have links to back up my memory.

Well nothing is odd about it, its just nice to know. Premier still offers OTSR's for their rides. Its the parks personal decision if it has them or not. And a park like Universal I think would be more likely to go with OTSR's because of the high traffic the ride will have. You know some people just feel safer in OTSR's. Although me personally I feel more secure in Premiers lapbars than I ever did in their OTSR's

Seeing as how it has 0 inversions, i would hope that there aren't any OTSRs.
