Mt. Olympus buys up and improves hotels on Dells strip

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Over the last three months, Mt. Olympus owner Nick Laskaris and his wife have purchased six motels and hotels, primarily along the west side of Wisconsin Dells Parkway, commonly referred to as "the strip." Most of the properties are outdated, so a crew of about 30 workers is busy this winter tearing out carpeting, replacing furniture, light and plumbing fixtures and painting. Laskaris said he is spending about $20 million to purchase and remodel the properties. The resort will have about 1,000 rooms.

Bill is wrong. lol

Bill is right. If a hotel were a good idea, there would already be one.

They've only been pondering this hypothetical hotel since 1975

Absent anything else to do there, it's not financially viable,.

Wow, talk about being an obnoxious troll. Why would you revive a thread that has been inactive for almost a week just to restate the same crap you've said over the last 15 pages? Not only is Jerry not your friend, I doubt you will find anyone else that is. Let it go.

In my last post, I was mocking Bill's repetitiveness, and making fun of how easy it is to get Bill to say the exact same thing over and over. It's really funny to me that he took my bait. I'm ROTFLMAO!

I just wish this time he did that annoying double post thing where he adds something to his last post without using the edit function, like this. That would have made it funnier.

It just keeps going, and going, and going, and going to infinity and beyond......

And, your right Travis he did take the bait...

Guys if you ignore him maybe he'll stop posting In this thread. Geez talk about desperation...

So, uh. How about those Cleveland Cavs?

Did they make it to the Super Bowl?

But Cleveland [Browns] have never made it to the Super Bowl in 45 years - so therefore they never will.

OK ... That one may be a bad example!

Ahem...

GADVoutpost.com recently did an off season tour of Great Adventure. They had some interesting things to say, but one of the admins posted the following bits...

They would love to have an on-site hotel, but there are issues with advertising when it comes to the other Six Flags parks in the area that are of concern. It was mentioned if a chain would like to partner with them and build a hotel, they would be all for it.
- There was talk about a possible RV-park, maybe log cabins on property. Nothing really concrete, sounded like a possible thought.

Just thought I'd share that information that came directly from the park's president. And doubts about that, you can look at the forums on GADVoutpost.com :).

So RVs and log cabins are OK, but no concrete slabs or foundations? ;)

LOL, I caught that too. I copy/pasted what the admin posted. So it seems like they do want some lodging there, and it looks like the park could support it.

My guess? Based on what they've said is at this point they don't want to put up the money to build and run a hotel (likely due to the economy, and less to do with capacity), but would like for someone else to do it.

I also asked for clarification and context concerning the advertisement comment.
