I am surprised to see that this park has actual cliffs you can jump off of from up to 23 feet! The Colorado River ride looks awesome as well.

This guy must not have ever ridden the Alpine Slide at the old Action Park, he's into the brake way too much

Here is a video from 2010 of most of the attractions. I've never been there other then in the winter to snowboard.

Warning, terrible music alert!
Thanks,

Five people were just injured on the ride we were looking at on video a few weeks ago. No one is seriously hurt, but water backed up into the dark tunnel...pretty freaky.

Got a link, Bunky? I can't find anything.

I just saw it on the news...it was late late at night. And I can't link from my phone. I just typed in "waterpark injury new jersey" and got a ton of results for this.

The ride in the video from earlier in the thread was Colorado River...this was The Gauley. Both rides were awesome when I went last week. TR to come.
Thanks, SFGadvlover. I was in contact with my friend Ellen today. We've been looking to get together for a waterpark-type day and were considering Dorney's WWK or Safari Sams indoor park in South Jersey. I sent her the Mountain Creek link, and she's interested. We're gonna target a weekend day in August. I was pretty stunned that the Mountain Coaster is included with waterpark admission, as is the Soaring Eagle, kind of an open-air two-seater skyride. This would be my first visit since the Action Park days of the late 80's.
I used to occasionally see discount coupons. Does anyone know where I might be able to get them? The discount for ordering on-line is only $2 off the $37 gate price. A buck's a buck, but that hardly seems worth it.
I afraid that my (somewhat) minor breathing issues will make it difficult for me, what with the (to my memory) VERY steep hills and lots of climbing. But I'll take it easy, and I'm sure I'll be alright. I'm very much looking forward to it. Hope it happens.

I got coupons at QuickChek (convenience store), for $5 off per person...so it's $3 better than ordering online.
I skipped the Alpine Coaster because I thought it was extra...then I saw how long the line was later in the day, and I realized it was free. I'll have to get on it next year...everyone I was with thought it looked lame.
Thanks..I've got two stores in my city. I'll "Chek" there.
I think the mountain coaster looks fun. Not as cool as the one overseas I saw video of, but fun.

Ive been twice this year... i live a half hour away. its nice to not have to travel very far to get some fun. my opinion is bring a fat friend for high anxiety. hold on tight on the colorado river and lean back when youre in the tunnel. the waters cold... but i suggest everyone go because its a blast. wear water shoes because your feet will be shot by the end of the day. they have some rides for little kids but its more of a teenager and up kind of park. They also just built a roller coaster this year that is not open yet.
He's probably referring to the Mountain Coaster. There's nothing on their site that indicates any other kind of coaster. The site also gives no indication that the Mountain Coaster, which WAS in fact new this year, is not up and running.

Yea the Mountain coaster. i guess its open now. it looked like fun. http://youtu.be/w_Sr-eoWA7c heres a video of it
Looks OK, but not as insane as some I've seen in Europe. I'm looking forward to trying it.
Incidentally, I stopped at two QuickCheks Saturday. Neither had the discount coupons. But there was one on my stairs this morning. My sister found one at Dunkin' Donuts. $5 off on up to 5 admissions...no blackout days or restrictions.

Well don't I look like a fool. I got a coupon from 2 different QuickCheks, both about 2 hours away from the park. Oh well, glad you found one elsewhere.
Going up to Mountain Creek tomorrow. If I don't die or get seriously injured, I'll let y'all know how it goes. If you DON'T hear from me.......

^ You'll have a blast. I wish I was going again.
Ride everything! Their Tornado is the best one I've ever been on. Tarzan Swings are awesome. Cliff Jumping is great, and don't miss out on the 'slide' that sends you off the cliff as well, just next to where you jump from. And of course, the best ride in the park is the Colorado River. I think they allow 1-4 riders per tube, but I definitely recommend no more than 2...it gets very cramped and uncomfortable with any more than 2.
Growing up in northern NJ, going to Action Park was a favorite past time. I worked there when I was 16/17, and went there at least once, if not twice, a year. After it changed to Mtn Creek, I have only been there 2 or 3 times. It doesn't hold the appeal that it used to for me, not sure what it even was back then, but I never had a bad time there. Had a few very minor injuries (bruises, headache, etc) but consider myself lucky. I have known quite a few to get their arms broken, noses broken, etc.
I think the worst part, hate to say this as well, is the crowds. You get bus loads of kids from Patterson, Trenton, Camden, and NYC. Need I say more. It's SFGA, but with water rides.
