i.e., let's pick a park in each region of the country to keep the readers happy.

I cant understand what makes astroworld so great besides cyclone. I have never actualy been to the park, but from looking at pictures it dosent look like much.
"....based on editorial content..."

Hmmm.... the editor probably has only been to a handful of parks and "knows a buddy who has a friend who knows a guy" who had been to the other ones of the 10. Sounds like someone ripe for a job at the New York Post!

I work in the biz...more than likely those editors received a free visit and/or private tour of a park, probably with their family. It's a fine line but does not constitute payment for placement as editors would not be under any formal obligation to place a park on the list [even tho that's exactly what happens].

Don't pay much attention to this sort of stuff. The editors just picked a bunch of parks. Heck, it says that Astroworld has the 4th largest selection of coasters in the world. There at least 10 parks with more coasters.
So does that mean they sent them to Six Flags over Texas or something? y'know. . . just cross out the Over Texas part and add Astroworld for a bit.

"Thanks for riding Tita...I mean, XLR8, and have a nice day here at Six Flags ov...Houston. Y'all."

How about that Cinema 180 at Cedar Point. Any idea what the show times are for that?

Six Flags Astroworld: Houston, Texas
Boasting the fourth largest collection of coasters in the world, including the Serial Thriller.
That means the first three largest collections would be at Cedar Point, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Six Flags Great Adventure, Six Flags over Texas, Paramount's Kings Island, Paramount's Kings Dominion, Paramount Canada's Wonderland, Paramount's Carowinds, Six Flags Great America, and Six Flags Worlds of Adventure.

For Kennywood, it says that the Phantom is the park's only steel coaster. They forgot The Exterminator and, if you want to get technical, the Lil' Phantom. MSN got the number of coasters right, but just forgot about the Exterminator being steel, I guess.

410 foot TTD.....glad I got on the 420 one.

Oh, and I'm trying to think of any animal shows at Cedar Point. Jungle Larry's is gone and so are the dolphins. I wouldnt' exactly call the petting zoo a show... Is he talking about Snoopy Rocks on Ice? Snoopy is a dog and he does perform in teh show. LOL

I like how Dragster is the newest "edition." Talented writers ;)

Blaster 1578, didn't you hear? TTD is sinking! The support structure combined with the weight of the footers is making it sink into the lake. So far it's sunk 10 feet, so S:TE is once again the tallest!! W00t!
