Most Personal Moments on a coaster?

My first ride on the Beast.

Riding SROS at SFA in the dark.

Taking my kids for their first coaster rides at Astroworld.

Shaggy, it depends, have you had physical personal moments on a coaster that you'd like to share?;) I'd rather not hear, truth be told, but if you have a more mentally enjoyable moment, if its all the same to you.

Shaggy - once, while riding Belmont Park's Dipper, a airtime/lateral moment caught me off-guard and slammed me into the side of the train and it cause me to...."pass gas" [and then my friend and I laughed hysterically thru the rest of the ride].

Is that what you had in mind?

Moosh - hopefully not crossing the line

Well,

I definitely would say flatulence would count as a "personal moment" 'moosh. ;-)

The *kiddies* may want to skip this next blurb.... Shaggy is going to get a bit "blue."

I cannot really speak too much from experience, but I can attest to observing a few "personal moments" while working at PKI on or about coaster, but also on other attractions as well. Here are a few gems:

- While on the Beast Crew, when break time came the ride ops would often take the stairs down to the old exit area that is now "off limits" to guests. More than once, guests could be found or observed relieving themselves in that area, having left the upper station que because they just couldn't hold it. Of course they were never attractive.

- When the Beast crew is down to minimal staff, it can be hard to get an Area Manager to the ride in time for someone to go to the bathroom. In PKI terms, this is called taking a "six." Basically six = #1, twelve = #2. Well I, along with many other Beast crew members, all have the distinction of having taken a "six" under the Beast station at least once.

- While working Phantom Theatre, many many MANY *ahem* private moments could be observed by the crew. After all, it was a five minute ride..... of course few needed the full 5 minutes. Never-the-less, the guests stupid enough to engage in the acts were typically met with grinning ride ops and a park security officer with perhaps a video tape copy of the act.

- The oddest thing I ever observed at a park was when I was working on the FOF crew. We often would walk the non-lock out areas of the drum looking for lost articles when the ride was down, or after hours. We found lots of odd items, but the oddest and grossest item indicating a very personal moment was one condom... used.... I still haven't figured that one out. These were the days of the shoulder restraints. And the ride is only like 90 seconds long.... doesn't say much for the fella.

Shaggy - methinks the "used raincoat" didn't come from a rider but from someone else with access to the drum. Thanks for those stories.

Moosh - who once got caught kissing his boyfriend [of 5 years] on Haunted Mansion ;)

Apparently the price of gas isn't as high in California as it is here in Illinois. This the second Moosh flatulence story I've heard in two days. ;)

On topic...one of my personal favorite coaster memories is from last summer...I rode Cornball Express with my stepfather. He's just a really even-keel guy who never shows much emotion. Well, Cornball was his first coaster ride in years and he laughed the whole way through. Afterwards, he talked about the ride for at least an hour. My mom and I just got a kick out of his whole attitude change.

If Milli Vanilli fell in the woods, would someone else make a sound ?

Mine was getting to CP after waiting about 4 years. I'm glad I waited because I got to ride Wicked Twister and MILLIE! That was probably one of my greatest moments. The second would be when I asked my gf (of 9 months now) out in front of Taxi Jam during PKI's fireworks. Iw as looking forward to doing it on the tower, but we missed the elevator by 20 seconds.

Actually the most memorable moment in a coaster was in high school riding Blue Streak at CP. The problem was that I was riding with my sister, who was much smaller than I was and we pressed the old one piece lap bar down as far as it would go. Of course half way up the hill the bar slips about half way up to the first "setting". A wrapped one arm around the bar and the other around my sister and we literally hung on for dear life. It's funny how the little old BLue Streak gave me a scarier ride than much bigger rides.
My favorite memory is my first coaster ride w/ my dad. He took me on the Blue Streak at Cedar Point when I was seven. I remember being terrified waiting in line, and once we got on, not opening my eyes. As soon as we got off though, I wanted right back on.
Montu- My First "Real" Coaster ride. Of course I had done CCMR and ID and The Corkscrew @ CP, but those weren't "big".

Millennium Force and Magnum @ Night, on the same day. The 2 greatest coasters you'll ever ride at night, and both done in a row. MF at night was spectacular, as the fog machines were in for Halloweekends. You couldn't see the bottom of the first drop, and the Island Hop was covered in fog. Magnum at night was just incredible. The second hill was bliss.

I lost my virginity on Magnum-.-

Okay, only in my dreams. But I remember the first time I rode the magnum...In 1998 or 1999 I think it was...I had been on a few coasters that compared in size(Steel Phantom) But everything about Magnum blew me away that day. The glorious airtime, the amazing view of lake erie, the speed of the thing. Never again have I had quite the same feeling I had when walking off of Magnum the first time. Also my first ride on MF was quite amazing...I was expecting high...but my god...it still blew me away. At opryland in or around 1996, my first ride on Chaos. That was and still is the most amazing indoor rollercoaster ever. I remember the huge, menacing looking building from the outside, the long hallway with the musing playing, the bass thumping in my ears. The loud bursts of steam that suddenly shot loudly from the speakers. I remember first walking into the loading area, and seeing the 80 passenger train for the first time. I remember how the ends of the train curved in the loading platform, it was so long. I remember the slow spiral lift, the spaceship in the middle, the music thumping. I remember the pure fun of riding in complete darkness, and I remember the shock at the end with the white screen and the monster. That ride was so amazing, its a damn shame its no more. Anyone who has ridden Chaos is a lucky person, and I pity anyone who hasent, because its by far the best indoor rollercoaster that ever was and ever will be.

Kennywood Park, America's finest traditional amusement park.

I would say Raging Bull. don't get me wrong, I am aware that you are looking for a specific, but every time I ride that ride, any seat, any time, I can't get enough of it. The speed, the airtime, the great transitions...it is really a shame that I moved to Fla...:-(

how do you insert emoticon faces in these damn posts??? :-)
