What are the things that really make a park stand out from the rest? Is it coasters, or is it theming? Variety or food? What are the things YOU look for in a park?

I'd say theming. I love coasters, but I'll take great theming and a decsent coaster over a great coaster and no theming.
1)Great theming, food, quality coasters, shows, cleanliness, service, atmosphere, and non-coaster thrills(WDW,IOA,BGW,HW,BGT,PKI,KW,DW,HP)
2)Great variety of coasters(CP,SFGAm,SFMM,SFGAdv,PKI,BGW,HP)

id say
1) theming (look at disney parks and how much they rake in)
2) family rides and attractions (to create tose memories which keep people comin back at all ages)
3) Quality rides (not quanity, in ten years is a park gonna be better off if they have 10 decent coasters or 5 superb coasters? this saves space, money, and builds happy guests)
4) clean, friendly staff, good looking, etc
5) unique and excellant dark rides,
6) location (disney is great at this. Would u rather visit a park in flordia or ohio and in flordia the parks are open all year around=$$$)
For me to go to a park, It's definitly got to have some rides :).

Landscaping, Landscaping, and Landscaping!
The park can have 25 coasters for all I care... but it's nothing without proper green space. I'd rather goto a park with 3 coasters in a really green-spaced park than a amusement park with 10 coasters that feels like a giant parking lot!
I don't refer to theming, like making a Batman coaster think your in Gotham City... I mean all the green space where the park is surrounded by tall trees, small trees, grass, hilly landscapes, water, and flowers.
* Where you gotta walk around the park to see every ride because it's hidden by the trees & landscaping.
* Where the rides are build around the greenery/landscape, not the other way around.
* Where the park doesn't feel like a giant fairground, but instead... winding paths leading here, there, & everywhere to your destination!
