Most amazing/unique flat rides?

From the video I saw, yet. Basically two skydivers on an arm that rotated about an axis. Sounds a lot cooler and more disorienting that a skydiver.

Man, last time I rode one of those, I think I cracked a rib!

Edit: Gotta get my flats straight! ;)

By the way Moosh, indulge us if you may. What was Turbo actually like? Was it like a rotating Zipper? More/Less disorienting?

I don't know of hardly a flat ride that didn't turn into a puke-mill when I turned about 29.

Examples? How about these three candidates:

Flying Circus:

Airwolf:

And of course the ultimate torture device in star shape,
Space Roller (Top Scan):

I really hate this new generation of 'give me more pain' rides...
Why aren't there more rides that concentrate on pleasurable accelerations/forces?

I know - I don't have to ride these rides, and I simply don't anymore - I just sometimes feel uncatered for on fairs these days - and I am definitely not a whimp in terms of extreme coasting experiences.

The world needs more pirate ships.

airtime for everyone

Wow people were "blowin chunks" ;) all over our fair last week after the rock-o-planes, I'd hate to see what would would come from that Flying Circus! *** Edited 7/21/2007 3:03:13 AM UTC by DantheCoasterman***
It is too creepy.

What I described in this thread and what you linked are almost verbatim!

Anyway that is the ride I was talking about.

Very cool swampfox.

Thanks for another great season, VF!

Mondial TopScan, or Shockwave, at Canada's Wonderland! This ride rocks, and feels different every time!

But the Huss Jump 2, Sledgehammer, at Canada's Wonderland is amazing!

My favorite has to be the Tivioli Spin Out at the Central FL Fair in 2001. It was a blast.

The pic doesn't give it justice.

I miss Tip Top at Camden Park. It was so much fun.

Definitely have to go with Rock-O-Planes and Breakdances for my favorites.

Oh. And of course a Star Flyer. I think I would be too scared to ride it, but still.

Check out the video for it too, even though it gets a little long.

Okay, what about ceterfuge rides like the Turkish Twist at Canobie Lake? You don't see ANYTHING like that anymore.

Coaster Junkie from NH
I drive in & out of Boston, so I ride coasters to relax!

Okay. I remember seeing this show on rides WAYY back, and it had a ride at Knobels that had two arms and they turned around and rotated, and it was like two axes spinning in different directions. I can't remember what it was called though.
I think it was called the Mixer??? The Discovery channel did a short piece about it when it was at Knoebles and made it look like the greatest ride in the universe, which it was not. It LOOKED cool, but if you don't like to be held up-side-down, it was pretty dull, imho. Last I knew, it was moved to Old Town in Kissimee, FL. I wonder if it's still there?
A toss up between the Scrambler and the Enterprise.
That ride at Knoebels was called the AXIS. *** Edited 7/22/2007 4:53:38 AM UTC by PhoenixFan1027***
Yeeeeee-dawgy!

Is that Flying Circus half as much fun to ride as it is to watch?

:) Count me in!

Me too! I've yet to find a flat that was too much for me ;)
Flying Circus at night is gorgeous.

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!
