Morey's Piers passes 180 ft. barrier......

Construction is well underway at Morey's Piers in Wildwood on the tallest Skyscraper in the world. It will be the tallest ride in town, surpassing the 156 ft. tall Vekoma Giant Wheel.

Historic Hunt's Pier, the latest purchase by the Morey family, will be home to the new ride. It will join a new Berrtazoni Himalaya, dubbed the "Rock N Roll". Morey's now have 88 rides. Also, one of the Raging Waters was expanded this year, with 2 new SCS treehouses.
Sounds great, I really need to get back out to Jersey this summer, Great White is calling me...

How long has it been since you've been on it?I went on it when it first opened and it was incredibly smoothe.Went back two years later and it was very rough.I talked to an ACE member on line for Nitro opening day and he said the best time to ride it now is early in the morning or,late at night before they close because the moisture from the ocean makes it faster and smoother. When you do go if you do,let me know how it is now please :)

If I tell you when I rode it, you wouldn't believe me.
Last time I rode it was around '97 I think. I don't remember it being rough then, but I did actually ride it late at night (5 times in fact). I really hope it didn't get too rough, it was my first CCI and is one of my favorite woodies. :(

The Great White is still one of my favorite woodies. Perhaps its the fact that it is located in Wildwood (one of my favorite places), but I really think that its a great ride. It has an amazing approach to the lift, a powerful first drop, tons of laterals, and tons of airtime (especially in the back seat). I ride it every summer, at least once during most parts of the day (noon, afternoon, evening, closing) and I have never found it rough or uncomfortable. Actually, I think it tracks like a perfect woodie... not too smooth or rough, but somewhere very much in between!
Added to the fact it has only 2 trains, therefore NO trim brakes....
Wildwood is definitely a wonderful place, I have so many memories of it. I must agree that the approach to the lift is great, plunging underneath the boardwalk. I really miss Wildwood, hopefully I can talk my parents into vacationing there this summer.

I agree with all of you. I have been going to Wildwood since I can remember. I have seen alot of changes in that time. Are they going to open the Gold Nugget Mine Train this year? I agree that the Great White is a good coaster. I love the drop out of the station, and 2nd drop is one of my favorites on any wooden coaster. I am sure I will make it there sometime this Summer.
I've been going to Wildwood since before I could walk. I love all the pizza places, arcades, piers, etc. so much. I would love to see another coaster go in, GCI maybe? :)
