In May 2005, Morey's Piers will debut AtmosFEAR, the tallest, fastest, and most intense drop tower ride in New Jersey. Designed and manufactured by Larson International and A.R.M. Incorporated, the ride can only be described as intense. AtmosFEAR features a height of 140 feet and a freefall speed exceeding 45 MPH - creating a vertical acceleration of 3Gs!

Shoulda picked up the O2 Tower from Miracle Strip, LOL...;)

Sounds like good fun overlooking the Atlantic, Morey's rocks...:)

Wa-wa-wa-watch the tramcar, watch the tramcar, watch the tramcar please...

Are there anymore of these Larson Tower rides at any other parks? This one looks like winner. I can't wait to check it out this summer.
They seem to be pushing the fact that it's a unique launching system that no other tower has. Are Larson towers better than others?
3G acceleration or 3G braking?

Are we talking freefall here or is it pushed? Because negative 3G would be lunch losing material :)

Cypress Gardens has one. I rode the portable version last summer at the Maryland State Fair. It takes forever to get to the top, and then BAM!, you drop. There's no S&S/Intamin pause whatsoever. If you're standing in line you can tell when it's going to drop when the weight attached to the cable gets near the loading platform.
I just hope there aren't any unnecessary bird casualties:)
