I haven't ridden one of these since I was a kid. They had one at Ocean City, MD, and I remember it being pretty fun.
Lots of leg room on those cars. Yes Lost, Not thrilling...but fun...and a nice intro to get the young ones initiated with a ride with a parent.
Sort of like a junior Jumbo Jet.
It's probably too early to speculate, but I wonder what will take its place.
It's also cool that it's getting a nice sendoff.

Not a thrilling ride (at least not like the ones Schwarzkopf eventually designed) but there might not have ever been a more perfect coaster to transition the little ones from Little Dippers to more thrilling options. Half the people on the Wildwood boardwalk will probably tell you the Flitzer was either their first "big" coaster, or was their kids' first. This one must have deteriorated pretty quickly because I remember it being completely refurbished not too long ago, and seemed to spend much of the 2018 out of service. I love the Moreys for sending it off in style (as they do most of their classics, because the old stuff is to be celebrated) and hope they'll replace it with a new coaster that caters to the same demographic.
