More Tomb Raider Info

I just got off the phone with a guy who works at PKI and he said that TR:TR will be a walkthrough ride until you get into this building. He said he hasn't even been allowed to see it but he knows that you will be flipped upside down at heights in excess of over 70 feet while you are getting sprayed with water. You must put all loose articles in lockers before you even go in the ride. I am now thinking that it can't be a top spin. Anyone else have any info they would like to share or maybe ideas on what this ride could be? Also does anyone have a picture of a topspin I can show my friend. Thx, Brandon

Why are you calling the park? Do you think they want to be annoyed by enthusiasts all day?

This is the kind of thing that gives enthusiasts a bad name. Just be patient and wait until you ride it, or read a trip report next week. Sheesh.

I am riding it next week and I am taking a little kid with me and I asked the height restrictions. He told me the info without me even asking. So sorry if I made a mistake in your perfect little life.

You said, "What are the height restrictions on Tomb Raider," and he gave you a description of the ride? I don't buy it. Besides, isn't there an easier way to find the height restrictions? Say, www.pki.com, or a million times on a million different threads in this newsgroup?

I am just trying to keep parks from becoming jaded and disgusted with enthusiasts. I'm sure PKI is getting dozens of calls a day now, begging to be invited to media days and asking details of TR:TR, and I'm sure they don't appreciate it.

Well I as a paying enthusiast can do what I want. I said "What are the hieght restrictions on TR" he said all the info then he told me the height restriction. Im sorry that I called them, I mean they do have a 800 number for a reason

I SWEAR! I am with Newbie To Coasters, w/e we try to say something, and give people clues, and to Newbie giving us clues on one of the most talked bout ride of the year, you should be more greatful! Thanks Newbie To Coasters, and if it's bad to enthuists, don't tell him, and personally my-self I dont think it is, but I wouldnt do it, but he didnt even ask, he just wanted to know the height restrictions, and what are they? Thanks for the clue!
...And I am sure they have people who get paid a salary to answer the phones and answer people's questions. That is one of the reasons the phone number is there. I agree that it isn't good to keep calling the parks asking questions, but I don't really think you need to make it your personal crusade to upkeep the 'reputation' of the enthusiast community. How do they know he's an 'enthusiast' anyway? Besides, if they didn't want all of this mystery surrounding the ride, they would not have intentionally created it. But they did, and obviously this is the response they planned for.

Anyway, about the ride. It really sounds like a Top Spin to me with the water effects under it.

Sfmmrider the height restrictions for TR are 54 inches. You also have to put everything in your pockets in a locker because the ride flips you upside down MANY times.

First of all, Newbie did not reveal anything to us that we haven't known for months. It is common knowledge that the ride flips you upside down, and Jeff Seibert has said you will get wet. In fact from Newbie's description alone, it sounds EXACTLY like a Top Spin.

I remember what it's like to be 15, when a week seems like years. But you'll find out soon enough what TR:TR is, and the park is not going to reveal anything, so why bother calling?

Starcoasters do you know where I can find a picture of a top spin to show my friend? Thx

Are you not listening to what I am saying Den? I didn't call to bother them on what it is. I called and asked height restrictions. And they have people there who get payed to answer phones. Sorry if you know everything about every ride and we can't think in our minds what this might be.

This just rpoves even more that it could be a top spin thought. The Ripsaw at Alton Towers does the evact same thing. I was readning a review for the Ripsaw nad it even said that you put your loose articles in a little bin and then you are flung up into the air and violently sprayed with water. I think it is a top spin.

Oh maybe I am confusing a top spin with something else. Does anyone have links to a picture of a top spin I can look at?

Whatever. I don't know why I even got into this one anyway.... I usually don't.

Newbie -

Are you new to coasters, or the internet too ? Ever heard of a search engine ? Sorry for being a jerk, but take some initive for yourself rather than asking 3 freakin' times for a picture ! It took me about 30 seconds to get this link.

Yeah that search sorta sux, i type something and it gives me totally different things.

Anyway, how could PKI even know that he is an enthusiast unless he said anything about being one. And asking "What are the height restrictions on Tomb Raider?" doesn't seem to reveal anything about being an enthusiast.

Millennium Force......It has its ups and downs.
