More Superman love from the colonies

The verdict is in, Superman: Ride of Steel at Six Flags New England just might be the world's best steel coaster. The rave reviews just keep pouring in.

Check more photos of this ride at Sean Costa's Six Flags New England Photographs.

Their is no way Superman is better than Millennium Force at Cedar Point. Anyways the original is always the best. Long live Superman:ROS @ SFDL!
I have ridden all three, and Superman at SFNE is by FAR the best hypercoaster I have ever ridden. SFDL's version doesn't come close!
does the superman at sfdl and sfne have the same layout? the one at sfa has the same layout as the one at sfdl i know that.
The Superman at SFNE is the extreme version. 78 degree first drop into a Goliath-like tunnel. It also features 3 straight extreme airtime bunny hops and a very powerful helix. 2 more tunnels, and a MF-like overbanked turn. Yes, MF's first drop is better, but after that this coaster blows every other steel coaster away IMO.
I absolutely agree! SFNE Superman may not have the extreme height of MF (which I have ridden 7 times), but there is certainly more action and the pacing is breathless compared to MF, which in my opinion peters out after the island hop. MF is more about sustained speed while SFNE Superman's multiple elements: mist filled tunnels, incredible double helix, and unbelievably INTENSE airtime make this ride incomparable. The best of Intamin’s coasters. (Don't get me wrong, I love MF too!)

The MF was definitely more intense, but I was able to get in 10 runs on Superman in a 5 hour period. I probably could've rode more except for the lack of equilibrium! :)

In two full days at Cedar Point, I was only able to ride the MF twice.
MF is way better than superman The wait for MF is worth . The superman is just another hypercoaster that copied Magnum. MF has no competition.
Intamin has become my favorite roller coaster manufacturer!!! The way that they have designed these cars are just flat out awesome!!! Millennium Force is the greatest giga (that is until I travel to Japan next month to ride Steel Dragon), but Superman is the best hyper out there. I know that u nostalgic enthusiats love Cedar Point's Magnum, but I wasn't that impressed with it and furthermore, Dorney Park's Steel Force is better than Magnum (and alot smoother too)!!! I have to ride the one at Six Flags New England. The one at Six Flags America in Largo, Maryland is supposed to be the weakest of the 3 Superman hypers and that one is a great ride. So I can just imagine what the one in New England is like!!
I definitely must make it out there!!!! I will not compare a hyper to a giga because there is no comparison.
MY NAME SAYS IT ALL MF IS GREAT BUT SMROS NEW
ENGLAND IS THE BEST HYPER OUT THERE IVE RIDDEN
MAGNUM, DESPERADO, GOLIATH BUT SUPERMAN NEW
ENGLAND HAS ALL THE ELEMENTS FIRST DROP 13 FEET
UNDERGROUND OVERBANKED TURNS DOUBLE HELIX AND THE
MIST IS COOL TOO I ALWAYS THINK IM GOING TO HAVE
MY ARMS SEPARATED FROM MY BODY IN THE TUNNELS.
ITS JUST THE BEST HYPER IN THE country.
Superman:ROS in SFNE is the best rollercoaster in the country!!! Even though it is a little smaller than MF it still packs the biggest punch after the first hill with the tunnels, double helix, giant overbanked turn, and lots of air time. It's definitly THE BEST hyper out there!!!!!!!! *** This post was edited by sretsaoc on 12/7/2000. ***
