Came across this article saying theme park's are getting more expensive but people are using more discounts. What discount's do you use and what does your local park have as discount's.

I always go to a park twice in a year, so I just buy a pass. It balances out.

It's still not tall enough!!!!!
If I am going more than 3 times I buy a season pass. If you go that often it more than pays for itself. If I am just going once I get discount tickets through my local recreation board, and if they don't have them for a park I try to find coupons. Some of the coupons are Buy 1 get one free during the week(which I like,)or a few dollars off on the weekend. I never pay the full price to visit a park. Gotta save $ whenever possible.
Yes, I do.
For the past several years I have gone to Hersheypark for "free". At one Hershey hockey games each year they have a "Fan appreciation night" where every one going to the game gets a free park pass. we have three tickets so that is three free passes. Add to that the fact that with season hockey tickets we get three park passes for each full season seat so that is 6 more tickets (one of our seats is only for half season). So between my wife and I we have 9 HP passes.
Also used the discount of buying our SW and BGT tickets at the same time in Fl.
And of all places, at church this past Sunday, we found that someone had a stack of "buy one admission get one free" for Six Flags America.
Not this summer, but next I would like to hit SFNew England and SFWorlds of Adventure. If we decide to do this, we'll probably get six flag season passes at Six Flags America... if the prices don't change, you can't beat it.

I promise I won't go off on a rant about those @#$%^&*! Toboggan's again.

For my non-pass parks, I can almost always hit up AAA for a nice price. Otherwise, I find the promotions at the local establishments (fast food, grocery stores, soft drink bottles etc.). Discounts dont seem to hard to find; especially when you can draw on the knowledge of the "CoasterBuzz Collective"

We buy season passes for parks that we will go to at least 3 times. ( SFGAM, CP,KI ).
I am considering using Priceline this year to book hotel rooms, as that was a killer expense for us last year, and one that we did not pay enough attention to.
I also spend about two hours a day online doing reward programs like Freeride and Milesource to earn gift certificates to Marriott hotels, gas cards, etc. Last year I made $1600.00 in gift certificates doing Internet reward programs. I'm on track to do the same this year.

Yep...PKI Ace Appreciation day....and I buy SFGAm season pass either early in the season when it is cheapest or buy it at Dominick's (a Chicago are food store) where it is discounted about $10.

This wonderful post was brought to you by the CoasterBuzzer formally known as MindBender!
C'mon people.... the biggest Cedar Point discounts are found in their yearly Getaway Guide! I try to snag as many as I can by finding some potential addresses to send them to!!
It has 10 bucks off of a ride & ride again (only $7.00 off of ride & slide, which is more expensive to begin with... go figure?!), plus a lotta buy 1 get 1 specials!!
I won't leave home without them... otherwise it's gonna cost me plenty for Cedar Point this year...
Oh wait...
It will anyway!!!!
I used a coupon from the Post-Gazette for a discount at Kennywood. I also got a booklet of coupons when I got my Six Flags season pass.

The Post-Gazette coupon was only good for preview day I thought.
For Kennywood we buy a ton of tickets from school for the school picnic day. Those tickets can be used on any weekday.
We went to SFA over the weekend. Used a "buy-one-get-one-free" coupon to get in. We then purchased our passes. They gave us a discount on the passes based on having already purchased admission to the park. However, they discounted the passes as if we had paid full price for two tickets, instead of only paying for one. I don't know if we just got lucky, or if this is normal procedure.
The SFA coupons refered to are available at local Wendy's restaurants. 2fer until May 28, $10 discount after that.
Of coarse we use discounts, everyone wants to save money. Why do you think we have so many parking threads?
I bought the Florida Fun passes for BGT/SFW. The offer just expired, let's me get into both parks for the rest of the year. And I have to activate it before the month ends, going this weekend.
That was a good article, had web sites of all the parks. If you can't find coupons locally, then call the park and see what they have.
Last year when visiting SWF, we stopped at a gas station just to buy a 2 liter bottle of Pepsi to get a coupon, it worked, saved us a ton of money.
If all else fails, walk up to the ticket window and look around, people will leave extra coupons on the window sill. Snatch one and get in line. Did this at SFGam last October, it worked. Why not? That money can buy my lunch.
