Kara owes me two cookies. hmmmmm cookies.

We have already seen all those screens, the only thing new is the system requirments.

Minimum requirements are windows 98! well that means I can't run RCT2 at all because I'm using windows 95.

Why didn't Sawyer/infogrames make a windows 95 version? the original is compatible with windows 95 so I don't see why RCT2 shouldn't be,it's probably because the publisher assumes that everyone is using windows 98 as their operating system software.

Well, I'm guessing that with all the new versions out there, it wouldn't make sense to include Windows 95, because hardly anybody would have it. But, I always thought that Windows 98 and 95 were pretty close in what they had. Who knows.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I only have Windows 95 and it will be at least a year before I get a new computer.

You can always just upgrade the computer you have now to Windows XP...

Windows 95 came out in 94 or 5, did it not? It's almost 10 years old. New games are never designed for hardware or software that is nearly 10 years old, they are designed for things that are, at most, 5 years old. Don't be too surprised if within the next few years, Windows 98 products start becoming rare.

You can always switch to Linux. Thats free, and it's my understanding you can emulate Windows if you have the right software for it.

xbombman, if they are using Windows 95, chances are, they have hardware that wouldn't have a chance at supporting Windows XP. No offense, 95 users, but it's probably true.

There's no real excuse for them not to make a version of RCT2 for windows 95 just because windows 98 is a newer operating system and the fact that RCT2 is more or less pretty much the same as RCT from a graphics and gameplay stand point.

I wonder if they realize just how many RCT players are using windows 95 versions of the game and are simply unwilling or unable to switch operating systems on their computers just to play one new game,I'm sure that if a windows 95 version isn't released that it will really hurt sales for RCT2,they should've kept in mind how many windows 95 users there still are when they decided to make RCT2 in the first place.

If they don't make a windows 95 version they should at least allow for RCT2 rides to be imported into the original RCT.

Microsoft has dropped support for Windows 95 for a while now. If it's not supported by Microsoft or any computer manufacturer, why on earth would Infogrames or Chris Sawyer support it?!? It's over 7 years old! It's so slow and unstable and out of date, I can't believe anyone is still using it. Time to upgrade!

Windows98SE is much more stable. Nobody should still be running Win95... this is 2002 people!

There IS an excuse. Not even an excuse really. It's called the onward development and standard of technology. If you are left behind, then that's your problem. Technology is moving so fast nowadays, you just have to keep up, or you loose out on things. I have had Win 98 for a long time already and I am even planning to move up to XP. I honestly don't see as to how people are still running Win 95 as their operating system. It's just TOO OLD. Hell, even Win 98 would be considered OLD. It's like complaining why no VHS video tapes are being made anymore for your VCR at the year 2050 when DVDs are then the worldwide standard for home video entertainment.

Not to be a complete and utter jerk, but are you guys whining about no Win95 compatability computer illiterate? As long as you have the latest drivers for your devices the game will run under win95. It's the EXACT SAME ENGINE they haven't changed anything. "OMG~~! It won't run under 95 because it's not listed!!@#!@". Uh.. yeah it will. Just relax.

Finally a game that will work with my system! My hardware is poor and my G-Force card only reads 4mb when it is in fact 32.. I can hardly wait!

kRaXLeRidAh - Hopefully by 2050, HD DVD's will be worldwide standard. Even though DVD is a step up from VHS, It can not be displayed in full 1080i format that today's HDTV's can display.

95, 98 there isn't what you call a difference in the two. 98 runs a little faster, but the latest drivers and you should be good to go.

You can't run RCT in Linux unless you buy a special program that lets you run direct X. (Direct X is a Microsoft product)
Back on topic...Did anybody notice the "pirate" theme that is said so be in the game? What do you think will come with that. And what's a giant garden?

I only have Windows 95 because we bought our computer back in the summer of 1997, right before 98 came out. I just have the minimum requirements for the 300 MgHz though...whew!:) But I also have a 3D accelerator card...

LocoBazooka--Sevendust, Nonpoint, Stereo Vent, Mushroomhead
Korn Tour (With no name)--Korn, Puddle of Mudd, Deadsy

Windows Xp would cost you $200 to $300 to upgrade cause you need the full version. It's best to buy a used 98 then get the home upgrade. But, if you have windows 95 on you computer, then I highly doubt your computer will meet the system requirments. 95 is mad old guys. It's time for an upgrade!
Guess I'm gonna have to build a new PC, time to stop buying those damn CP conrdogs.
