Of all the map sites and programs I've used, I find MS Streets & Trips to be the most accurate. I typically run the entire trip into my laptop - down to the street address - and carry it with me. It really hasn't misdirected me once.
And if I get a little ahead of my plans, I can stop and make adjustments along the way without the need for internet access.
