More dark rides, please.

I would like to see more coaster/darkride hybrids. Exterminator was a great addition to Kennywood and is extremely popular.

Adding darkride features to a family coaster would be another great idea. And of course there was the former Alpine Sleigh Ride at Astroworld that combined coaster and darkride elements.

Of course this is not that new of an idea. Those old Pretzel rides at Conneaut Lake Park and Camden Park may have simple stunts but they are the oldest existing examples of this genre of ride.

Knoebels will eventually get the old Golden Nugget up and running, that was a dark ride/coaster kinda hybrid.

I agree about the dark rides.. the Jersey Shore used to have some great ones. Now most are crap.

Dark rides are great.

Every good park should have at least one.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Exactly why SFMM doesn't have one ;)

But is it the case that it doesn't have a dark ride because it's not a good park, or rather that it's not a good park because it doesn't have a dark ride? ;)

I think you know the answer to that, Mr. Mike.

The "tunnel o' metal detectors" doesn't count as a dark ride. :)

If Holiday World wants a Santa themed darkride, Sally already has one available that has been installed in two parks in Asia.

One of the parks that is not lacking in darkrides is Kennywood. Besides Ghostwood Estates they have the Noah's Ark walkthrough, the Exterminator coaster darkride hybrid, and Garfield's Nightmare with the boats. Garfield was critisized by many of us but was popular with families. In 2011 it is going to be rethemed.

As for the old traditional rides, I like both the Whacky Shack at Waldameer and the Knoebels Haunted Mansion. As others had mentioned, the big problem with these rides is low capacity. It usually takes a half-hour to get on Whacky Shack. I remember the great Bill Tracey Haunted House at West View years ago, part of which is in mothballs at Conneaut Lake. This was outstanding and I heard that Trimpers in Ocean City, MD still has such a ride that is even better. Another great traditional darkride of the past was Le Cachot formerly at Kennywood.

You were awfully quick to tie my name to the canoodling. :)

I'll take the blame. I'm the bad guy.

Let the canoodling begin!

How about a darkride with an alternate path that only a few guest a day experience? Imagine doom buggie type cars that end up in another room on a spinning roundtable before retuning to the regular course.

I can't remember the last time I canoodled.....

There was that one time last year I tried unsuccessfully. That was the time I can'toodled.

But not much recently. I haven't gotten oodles of canoodling. ;)

Sounds like something they do in Whoville after playing with their pantookers and fozzles.

All the noise, noise, noise, noise!
