When asked what's the best inverted?most people say Raptor or alpengiest,I watched that show about Busch Gardens last night on the Travel channel and I must say Montu looks pretty impressive .I've got to go ride it!

Out of the following inverts I have ridden (Raptor, Great Bear, Serial Thriller(SFO), and Montu) Montu is the longest ride, the most interesting ride, and my personal favorite.
Montu is not just my favorite inverted, it is my favorite coaster (I have ridden Montu, Raptor, Dueling Dragons, Top Gun, Mind Eraser, Kong and Invertigo).

I rate Montu right up there with DD at IOA. I especially like the dives that take you below ground. Along with BTR, they have the best theming and pacing of the inverts I have ridden. I rate these my top 3 inverts and among my favorite coasters overall.

I've ridden most of the top rated inverts outside of California, and I would rate Montu second to Alpengeist.
Just like Raptor, I found Montu disappointing. The layout and terrain is interesting, but the ride was too slow. As you can see from my favorite inverts, I like them fast and intense.

Grant - I find Montu to be slow as well. It is visually stunning, but lacks "snap". I travel to Florida every year, and always find Kumba the better of the two (I still do at least a dozen rides on each of them). Funny thing about Raptor, though - it was running slow every time I rode it this year (5 trips throughout the year, maybe thirty rides) until closing day. It was just screaming that day! I had lost a lot of faith in it until then. Now it sits right back up there with the best of the best.
How is Montu slow. You're doing over 60 mph for the first half, and the second half is pretty good too, and it even feels faster when you go in and out of the trenches.
Montu is my favorite invert and my third favorite coaster overall (behind MF and the Hulk). I've ridden SFGAm's Batman, the Dragons and Raptor.

I disagree about Montu being slow, but we all have our opinions! :) I'm VERY familiar with Raptor (3-season employee), but the first time I rode Montu it blew me away. I found it very fast-paced and it kept that going right to the end, unlike Raptor's pause through the block break (not literally stopping, just a slow part). Dueling Dragons is the same way - fast, that is. I love the layout of Montu, how it is interwoven well and skims the ground. The live gators in the open pit make a nice touch, too. :)

I've been on 5 BTR's, 5 SLC's, Raptor, Montu, Alpengeist, Great Bear, Fire Dragon, Ice Dragon, Top Gun at PC, Face/OFF, and Two Face. Out of all those, my favorite inverted is STILL Montu. There's something about it that just rubs me the right way. I rode it at night for the first time last December and it was simply amazing. The trenches, the wicked inversions...everything about it just *works*. Even after the blocks have been tightened, it remains my favorite, and still in my top 5 coasters. It's perfection.

I thought that Montu was actually a little too smooth and was more impressed by Top Gun at PC.
My list:

2)BTR (SFGam)
3)Montu
Montu is my all time favorite coaster in general. it gives a unique ride and is very fast. (i have ridden top gun, batman the ride, kong, montu)
