Montu

Okay, I think I have had a topic up before on Montu, So please don't get all mad, I have a few questions on it.
First off, Of all B&M Inverts, do you think it was the best one? (Next to Alpengiest)
Is it's last inversion a flat spin or corkscrew ?
Is it fast ? And worth Waiting more than an Hour for ?
And do you think it should be cloned for another park ?

First, Montu is not the best, and I have ridden all the greats.

A Flat Spin and a Corkscrew are the same on a B&M, excpet that a FS has a snap over the top.

It is fast, before the Batwing, then the speed goes down hill. It isn't worth a hour wait.

I don't think a clone would be good, because another park couldn't do Montu's design justice, the trenches make it very good.

I love Montu. I have been on Alpie, Top Gun (PGA), Dueling Dragons, Nemesis, Great Bear, and Raptor, but I like Montu over all of them for several reasons:

1. The Batwing kills any Cobra Roll.
2. The trenches add a lot to the ride, especially with the sensation of speed.
3. Great layout, pacing, speed, intensity, all that stuff.

The last inversion is a corkscrew. B&M just calls them flatspins.

Of course I'd wait an hour, I would for just about any B&M.

GO CU! Big 12 Champs!

It's very fast... The Zero-G roll is awesome, my favorite inversion on the ride, IMO. Not as snappy as say a Batman:The Ride, but still very nice.

Montu is my favorite invert. I really like the ride, and it has great theming also. The last inversion is like a corkscrew, B&M style. Seems to me that B&M has 2 kinds of corksrews, te regular kind, as seen on Arrows, and their own kind, which is more straight, and more like an inline twist.

Here's Montu's corkscrew: http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery87.htm?Picture=11

Kraken's: http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery581.htm?Picture=23

Montu's never stops going forward, while Kraken's is going sideways when it is upside down..

I don't think it would be a good clone, because it take up alot of space. It goes out a far way into the batwing.

You do realize that there is no such thing as "best", right?
Also, is has been cloned, sans the terrain/tunneling.

Montu has been cloned? Since when? The only thing close to being cloned I guess is Top Gun at Carowinds, which has a lot of similarities. And while I'm mentioning Top Gun, I will have to say (as if you havent heard me before) that it is my favorite invert (ridden Alpie, Raptor, B:TR, Volcano: TBC).

Montu is way underrated! It is my favorite inverted coaster! The batwing is the best double element ever. Plus, the Zero-G roll is mega-intense! By the way, for anyone who cares to know, Montu is the world's longest inverted coaster (RCDB). Somebody has to agree w/ me that's really cool!

My bad starcoasters, I thought Top gun was almost the same.  I just checked the stats....they are much more different than I thought.

Montu is my favorite coaster.  I thought it was unbelievably smooth.  The hugh Immelmem near the wall is great, so is the batwing into the trench which delivers some good g's.  I've only been to BGT twice but both times the most I had to wait for both Montu and Kumba was like five minutes.

Top 5
1.Montu
2.Hulk
3.Kumba
4.S:ROS @ SFNE
5.Ice Dragon

If anyone has ridden all 5 B&M's in Fl., they will say that they are among the top 10 if not 5 B&M's of all time.  They are all great, montu is my 3rd fav.  The first drop is incredible.  I love it.  I LOVE the batwing, so many g's, but it loses so much speed during the mid-course brakes, that really stinks, but that last flat spin is INCREDIBLE.  I'd wait an our for it, definitely worth it.

DDFire I've actually ridden SIX B&Ms down in the so-called 'Sunshine State' (my arse!) And only FOUR of them would I rank very highly (ICE is aiight; Hulk...well I wont say it :))

Anyway, topping the FL list for me is Montu. Actually it tops the invert list (I've ridden all the supposed 'great' ones) AND the multielement list in general. Not suprisingly, the only invert I like almost as much is its little brother Top Gun: The Jet Coaster (Carowinds). I only got ONE ride on the thing (next to last row) and It's like my 3rd favorite steelie. You can bet the farm I'd wait an hour for it...maybe even three. After all, I did wait over two hours for a B:TR clone...*THIS YEAR* (remember vacoasterfreak ;))
holla

Every B&M invert is great.  I really don't like judging the different ones, but this is how my order goes.

1. Alpengeist

2. Dueling Dragons(both of them because they are so cool).

3. Montu

4. Raptor

I have riden three B&M Inverts, Batman the Ride, Montu, and Raptor. Of the three, nods have to go to Montu, IMHO. The reason is the theming. All in all, I thought Raptor gave a better ride and was better paced, but the theming on Montu just kicks it over Raptor. Nothing like looping around tunnels and the trenches at the end.

My favorite invert would have to be Dueling Dragon's Ice.  I just love those footchopper effects.  Montu was great but it seemed to get really slow in the middle of the ride.
Montu is simply the best

Great to see the ol' '____ God' [edit: I forgot what god this is again...lil' help?] still has it.  Ever since I rode it in March of '98 (93 times in 4 days baby!) it's sat atop my all time fav coasters list.
Head and shoulders above all the rest of the inverteds in the country.  And I get to ride it in less than two weeks!

I think Montu is the God of flight... but I'm not sure.

I've never ridden Montu, but I'm dying to. I've downloaded an on-ride video from the front seat and it looks amazing!

Montu is one of the best B&M inverts.  I've ridden 9 different B&M layouts on 12 different physical coasters(Batman (SFGAdv, SFGAm, SFOG, SFSL), Great Bear, Talon, Carowind's Top Gun, Alpengeist, Montu, Dueling Dragons (Fire and Ice), Raptor).  The front seat of Montu has the best visual effects on any single inverted (nothing compares to the DD).  As far as the physical sensation of the ride, I rank Montu as my number 3 inverted (after Alpe and Fire Dragon)
Did something happen to Montu since 97 when I rode it?

Did Busch turn up the breaks (or turn them on) after I was there?

Because when I was  there, the mid-breaks were next to nothing!!!!

If the breaks were turned up, does this make the ride a lot crappier?
