Mondial Top Scan strands 28 riders at Lagoon

A group of mostly teenagers spent two hours stuck in a malfunctioning Lagoon ride late Monday, which frustrated parents who watched their children dangling in the cold 10 feet above the ground. Park employees tried to correct the computerized error for two hours before using ladders and a bucket truck, similar to those used by electrical companies, to rescue the teenagers. No one was injured.

PCW's Cliffhanger (SplashOver) has had many issues with its brakes and it no longer performs the neat tricks it used to.

It seems weird that these park installations of Mondial rides seem to suffer problems while, from what I understand, the Mondial's travelling the German Fair circuit are held in quite high regards...

i totally agree as well, 2 hrs is way too long to be stuck on any ride, i hope they at least got some compensation for this, also if i was a parent looking for my child, i would be horrified to find out they were stuck on a ride, i know my mom would be horrified to find i was stuck on a ride
Well yes, the funny thing is, Lagoon's Mondial Splashover
(Cliffhanger) has been down for I bet over half of the 2003
Season. Recently, the gondolas have been dismantled and
according to all of the sources I've looked up, should be
up and running again by October, (just in time for Frightmares)
I wouldn't critizie the way Lagoon handled the situation.
I think that it was smart for them to think about how to handle
the situation, then to immedatley evacuate. I've ridden the
Topscan before, and it is such a good ride. I totally understand
why it would be so hard to evacute, because during parts, of
the ride you can be completely perpendicular to the ground.
