Modifications are being made to X's cars. Currently, two trains are on the track. One is almost fully assembled while the other has no seats attached. Also, I noticed a small section of track was cut out of the ride when I arrived in the morning. Later that evening, it was being welded back onto the track section.

Wir schrauben für Euch die Achterbahn zusammen!!!
by the way, if anyone knows someone who works at the park, could they find out if there are going to be any ride closures on the 18-19th? thanks a bunch if you can help

the neon love chicken has spoken :)
I hope for your sake that the ride is open by then. That is still over two weeks away and as we saw with Deja Vu's opening, anything can happen.
Regarding ride closures, I would call SFMM's office on Friday and ask. That is my normal plan of action and they have been fairly accurate in the past. Of course, it could ruin your day as it did mine back in the late 80's. Prior to Viper's construction, Shockwave, Ninja, Revolution, and Roaring Rapids were all closed on the same day. A long time ago? I know. But I still have bad memories of that trip!!!
All of the rides will be open But they will be only running one or two at the most cars the whole day so expect some lines. If I were you I would head over to Deja Vu' right away because that line fills up the fastest and I mean fast. After Deja Vu', stay in the back of the park and hit all the big rides. Have fun!
Unfortunately, if you look at the way it usually goes down (even with DejaVu):
The park announces "Media day" appx 1 week in advance, Then the park opens the ride to the GP about a week after media day. Two weeks notice.
They havent announce "media day" yet, so I wouldnt count on it being open by the 18th.
I, myself, am going on the 17th and would also like to be surprised with a sudden opening, but I wouldnt count on it. Especially if they are still making minor modifications at this point.
I do believe that they still intend to have it open before the start of next year, as so they cant be accused of false advertising "new in 2001".
