modern versions of old rides

I'm interested in old classic rides and I got to thinking the other day about modern varients on the old standards. I came up with a short list and I'm wondering what else is out there.

Mangels Whip - Zamperla Speedway
PTC Crazy Dazy - Zamperla Demolition Derby
Bisch-Rocco Flying Scooters - Chance Aviator
King Frolic - Wisdom Tornado
Trabant - Chance Wipeout

I'm leaving the scrambler family of rides out of this!

Hersheypark put in a 11-tub Rideworks WHIP back in 1999. Unfortunatly, Rideworks went out of business recently.

Though your staying away from the "scrambler family" you may want to know that Eli Bridge, maker of the Scrambler, has come up with a 48-person Scrambler-like ride called "Cycloid"

Interesting about the Rideworks WHIP. Too bad they went out. The WHIP is one of my favorites and Zamperla's version doesn't quite cut it ;)

I was leaving the Scramblers out for a couple reasons There are a lot of variations and the originals are still being produced. Same thing for Ferris Wheels.

Well millrace, HP's Whip is pretty mild also compared to the original. I also have ridden the Wipeout at a fair this summer, and I think it's better than the original. When we went in reverse I was getting airtime!

Hey..the Hersheypark Whip was boring! It was way too slow and the tubs were too big. I didn't enjoy it at all. If they had sped it up, it may have been fun. I'll take KennyWood's or Dorney's Whip over HP's anyday!

good Whips I've been on...Kennywood, Dorney, Knoebels....seems to be a geographic distortion here...maybe it's just me! But to compare ggod old-fashioned flying scooters with a Chance Aviator...that MUST be sacrilege...LOL!
